In 1974, a group of men lost their lives in what is still called today the Bloodless Revolution of Portugal.

April 26th, 1974, the first night after the overthrow of the Portuguese fascist regime. A man comes to a small room in a boarding house carrying only one suitcase. Suspicious but tired, he ends up falling asleep to suddenly wake up with the phone ringing insistently. On the other end of the line, a voice makes fun of him repeating everything he says.

Three students hangout in a living room. What Hugo and Paulo don't know, however, is that this night is not like the others. Luís has something to reveal to them, a secret with apocalyptic consequences, that will test their friendship.

Vicente is an “abafador”, a smotherer who travels around with the mission of ending the suffering of those who are terminally ill and dying. Tired of living like a criminal, he does one last service but is caught red-handed by a woman.

While working at the local video store, Vicky meets Sam, who quickly becomes a regular costumer. Both fall in love, ignoring the true reason for their rendez-vous.

A group of friends is invited to a party, where Afonso reencounters his last love. After consuming a large amount of drugs, he is confronted by an hallucinogenic trip where he confronts his fears.

An exploration of East Timor through the symbolism of the rooster, questioning traditions, confronting ethics and human needs. From rituals to economics and gender, it reveals the complexities of a post-conflict society in one of the youngest countries.
