西元 1592 年，宣祖弃国躲避日军压境，留下京城惨遭大火吞噬，老百姓更是怒火难平。迁影一生竭力挣脱奴仆枷锁，更不惜为国鞠躬尽瘁，希冀以此换取自由之身。宗吕则是朝鲜武官名门世家的独子，但剑术迟迟没有长进。他与迁影友情深厚，甚至在迁影代他通过武考后为了报恩，百般央求父亲放了迁影，别让他再为人奴隶。但他并未如愿以偿，反而彻底激怒了迁影。而后对日战争开打，迁影趁乱逃跑并加入了义勇军，宗吕却误以为迁影在逃亡时杀了他的家人。无情战火延烧七年之久，迁影凭藉他彪炳的战功在义勇军中一步步往上爬，而宗吕回到都城汉阳要替家人报仇。在满目疮痍的朝鲜土地上，他们一个为国为民，一个恪守皇命，如今将拔刀相向。
鸣梁海战续集也将提上制作日程。据片方介绍，续集计划采用中韩合拍的方式，届时有望在中韩两国同步公映，这样一来两国影片上档时差将被彻底打破。历史上，鸣梁海战之后第二年也就是1598年，中朝水军和丰臣秀吉的日本海军进行了露梁海战，朝鲜将领李舜臣（崔岷植在《鸣梁海战》中的角色）和大明将领邓子龙联合指挥并取得大捷。如果中韩真的能合拍续集，应该就是拍摄这个故事，邓子龙将由中方哪位男星出演和崔岷植飙戏让人期待。
该片根据1592年7月8日在闲山岛近海发生的朝鲜水军击败日本水军的“闲山岛海战”改编，计划下半年开机。玉泽演饰演为拯救国家而努力的朝鲜水军林俊英。本片其他卡司还有朴海日、卞约汉。

影片讲述了朝鲜高宗皇帝李熙的小女儿、朝鲜末代王女“德惠翁主”（1912-1989）悲戚的一生。德惠翁朱是高宗李熙唯一长大成人的女儿，母亲是梁贵人，朝鲜王室规定，中宫王妃嫡出的女儿称“公主”，嫔御所出庶女称“翁主”。
电影背景以1920年在中国吉林省凤梧洞联合独立军摧毁日军第19师团，取得巨大胜利的凤梧洞战斗，与青山里战争一同被誉为"独立运动史"为原型的故事。

金高银将主演韩国首部音乐片[英雄]，本片由尹济均执导，根据同名音乐剧改编，讲述朝鲜近代史上著名的运动家安重根生命中最后一年的故事。1909年10月26日，安重根在中国哈尔滨成功刺杀了侵略朝鲜的元凶、前日本首相伊藤博文，当场被捕。日本关东都督府地方法院判处安重根绞刑，于1910年3月26日在中国旅顺就义。安重根被当今朝鲜和韩国分别称为“爱国烈士”和“义士”。

Jingbirok, the name of a book written by real-life Joseon historian and scholar Ryu Seong Ryong (Kim Sang Joong),detailing the Imjin War (1592-1598). The drama will be a telling of historical events with the scholar as the central character, in the samevein as “Jung Do Jun”(who influenced the founding of the Joseon dynasty). Ryu Seong Ryong was an official who served during King Seonjo’s reign in the late 16th century. He was a brilliant Confucian scholar who was put in charge of military operations during the Imjin War, and greatly influenced AdmiralLee Soon Shin.
July 1590, Odawara. Toyotomi Hideyoshi's army had surrounded the Odawara Castle for over 3 months, hoping to conquer this last obstacle to his dream of the country's unification. The fighting in this extended period includes the famous naval battles under Admiral Lee Soon Shin.
The Daewongun of the title refers to Heungseon Daewongun, or Yi Ha Eung, a descendent of King Yeongjo and regent to King Gojong. This episode details the years spanning from the reign of King Cheoljong to the Empire under Gojong and Empress Myeongseong, and finally the fall of the dynasty.
