A young couple's announcement of their engagement to their friends is followed by a series of interactions and conflicts that forces everyone to reflect on their lives.

Kuroshi Mayama, age 14, lives alone with his mother Namiko. Though he was just under the age of one when he came to this town with his mom, he remembers everything from that day: Gettings on the bus in his mom's arms, an old woman who spoke some words to him, and the encounter with a poet... One night, with Kuroshi's birthday approaching, Father shows up unexpectedly. He insists that he and Kuroshi's mother had made an arrangement – that Kuroshi was to live with his mother until his 15th birthday and then live with his father. As Kuroshi's world gets turned upside down, his family, the people around him and even himself start to change.

The story involves an aloof thief, a young man who turns to God after his father’s suicide, a manipulative marriage councilor, a man who recently lost his job, and several others whose lives become intertwined in various unexpected ways.

After reading the book, Kano imagines a happy ending by pretending Hiro as the King and herself as the princess. Fate changes when the picture book and reality collide... A love story for the new century.

It is the developer of the emotion-controlling medicine who finds her and marries her. Her memory is erased and she starts an entirely new quiet life as a different person. Teto is a secret agent trainee. Hatoko is a high school student who lives on venting her anger in a combined combative sport gym. On the day Hatoko saw Teto, she runs into cat's suicides. While she experiences a fighting awakening, Teto's superior orders Teto a final examination of infiltrating into a theatrical company, which is composed by orphanage members. Every night, they repeat rehearsing a folktale "Foxed Eyes Torakichi", that modeled legendary outlaw. In a muxture of stage play and costume drama, Teto and the leader build up weird similar figures.

This three-part omnibus spins tales about love featuring surreal characters like ghosts and eccentrics.

December 30th, 2017. Two years before the Tokyo Olympics, due to a revision of the Constitution, a National Defense Force is created in Japan and it starts military operations. In an incineration plant, a dog goes lost, but when Tani goes looking for him, she finds nothing. In the plant, Yanais takes down the Christmas decorations and replaces them with the ones for New Year. Gou, addicted to survival games, comes to the plant during the night and starts playing video games with Ken, even if it is his day off. In the meantime, Adachi is just watching their game to kill time. However, all these men share similar problems: pregnancy, adultery, family issues and a friend who died in the war. Meanwhile, Tani, who is troubled with her immoral relationship with Adachi, begins to feel that her father, who was the plant’s manager and is supposed to be dead, seems to be around somehow.

Ichiro Sasaki, 35, is working for a small training school in Tokyo. Though his work and his life are rather dull, he at least gets along somewhat well with his young daughter. He recieves a phone call one day, informing him of the sudden death of one of his colleagues. Shortly after this shocking news, his wife who is now living apart cuts him down further by telling him, "You don't see anything." While walking in the night, Ichiro is struck by an idea: why don't we go there? He heads off holding his daughter's hand. And thus begins a strange little tale of an ordinary father and his daughter.

High school junior Hagi (17) quits school and is spending a lot of time at home when his father reveals that he has another house with a mistress. His father wants to end the relationship and asks Hagi to get the woman to move out. Hagi gets to know his father's mistress, and grows up in the process-

Fired from his part-time job in a restaurant kitchen for absenteeism, rookie boxer Tamura has a lot to be angry and frustrated about in his life. But things start to change when he’s approached at the gym by the artist Hattori, who wants to use him as the new model for the manga character Yellow Kid. Yellow Kid first appeared in an American comic in the late 19th century, and Hattori revived him as an older character a century later.

Kazuomi Nara lost his job due to the bankruptcy of his company and Shiori, his fiancé, is pregnant. Running away from reality, he steals a car and ends up in a field with four strangers, Joe, Marco, Santa and Tokie. An old man who can't ride a bike, a con artist, a virgin and a shop keeper. As confused as he is, Kazuomi decides to stay with these four strangers.

All of a sudden, the city is empty with people. Detective Hideyuki Matsunaga is investigating a kidnapping case. Hideyuki's wife Eri is expecting a baby, but right after the delivery, the baby is kidnapped. For the sake of his baby, Hideyuki desperately tries to recover his broken relation with his wife, but he cannot get a clue. He starts thinking the baby was spirited away by a ghost. He is seized with fear. He looks up to the sky, there is an unearthly aurora swaying to and fro.

Yoshinaga, a real-estate agent, has a young female customer one day. She asks him to take her to the apartment where she used to live. When he plays a videotape left in that cavant room which shows some signs of its ex-resident, Yoshinaga gets lost in another fantastic world. After a while, Yoshinaga and the girl come back to their respective daily lives... A pop, colorful, yet at times a heartaching road movie, which leads to elsewhere.
