Kalit so'z Karuta

Chihaya Ayase has spent most of her life supporting her sister’s model career. When she meets a boy named Arata Wataya, he thinks Chihaya has potential to become a great karuta player. As Chihaya dreams of becoming Japan's best karuta player, she is soon separated from her karuta playing friends. Now in high school, Chihaya still plays karuta in the hope that she will one day meet her friends again.

This series connects the story of the second movie, "Chihayafuru Part II", with the third movie, "Chihayafuru Part III".

Based on a manga by Yuki Suetsugu, this new drama is an original story set ten years after the live-action adaptation films of Chihayafuru. It follows a new generation of high school students in the Reiwa era as they dedicate their youth to competitive karuta. At the heart of the story is Meguru Aizawa. Once a ghost member of the school's karuta club, Meguru begins to grow and change after meeting her new club advisor, Kanade Oe, played by Mone Kamishiraishi, who is reprising her role from the original film series.
