Three protesters and three police officers, six people with different political views sitting around the table. The copy machine is out of order; it's going to be a long night. Smoker, a prefect in a boarding school, maintains order with weed and terror. Within the confines of the school, we witness a twisted version of a coming of age story of unbridled violence in the name of law and order, culminating tragically to the death of the bullied Dickhead. As the incident escalates and things go astray, Smoker faces a moral dilemma: Should he clear himself of further corruption, or should he act as an accomplice of the authorities? Stylistically extravagant, the short uses the secondary school as a metaphor to underpin the absurdity and brutality in ‘the worst of times.’
We enjoy the adrenaline rush given by horror films. But what if we are personally involved in the horror? Director Chun has created a ghost story based on a real case with a dancer murdered, incorporating all marketable ideas like women, supernatural forces and violence. Successfully he persuades the boss to invest in his horror, but there is one “little” requirement – in order to pass the Mainland censorship, no ghost can be presented in the ghost story. So keen to make it work, Chun compromises. While he starts to change the script, an unexpected visitor shows up and leads him to a special journey.
