Three strangers - Vishnu, Louis, Pappan - who are jailed due to various reasons become friends at the jail. Then they feel that their lost life is being regenerated. Once out of jail all three hope to lead a better life.

Through the voices of local elders, the film conveys how that form of hunting developed into the lifeblood of the town before cultural changes, international condemnation, and strict regulation brought it to the brink of non-existence.

Vijay's marriage is fixed to Pavitra, the daughter of a wealthy man. Things take a turn when Vijay accidentally meets Merin and falls in love with her.
