For the first time, light is shed on the Inkotanyi politico-military movement that ended the genocide of the Rwandan Tutsi in 1994 and is led by Paul Kagame, currently President of Rwanda.

Three family stories intersect in present-day Rwanda: a mother tries to cope with the loss of her son, a young woman takes care of the ailing father she never truly loved, and a small-time criminal prepares his son for a life of living by his wits.

Eva, a young Rwandan woman, dreams of attending medical school. But her aspirations are interrupted when she is kidnapped by a group of men as a part of the Guterura rite of enforced marriage. Abandoned by her family, she struggles to cope with the grim reality of her new life with her new husband Silas and his cousin. While Silas is away working, the two young women form a tender connection as they spend their days doing household chores, beading, making tea, and swapping family histories and memories of the genocide. Despite this newfound ally, Eva contemplates running away to a life of freedom.

The past is always present in the life of Lyiza who has to live with the traumatic memory of her parents' murder, during the genocide in Rwanda. When she recognizes in the father of her classmate, the person responsible for their murder, a great tension started. The harmony returns through the intervention of a teacher who takes the youngsters to the museum of the genocide, the place of memory, and guides Lyiza towards forgiveness.

Twenty-five years after the genocide of Tutsis in Rwanda, filmmakers visit a country still haunted by the massacres of spring 1994. A group of inmates try to understand what made their participation in the fourth genocide of the 20th century possible. In Kigali Prison, some testify about their abuses against Tutsis. Directed by Violaine Baraduc and Alexandre Westphal as part of a thesis on the participation of women during the genocide, the film questions the generalization of violence to all layers of Rwandan society.

1994, Rwanda. As the genocide rages on, a pastor and his young daughter take shelter in the hut of a feared shaman : Bazigaga. Hunted by the militias and trapped with the strange woman sorcerer, Karembe seeks a way out.

In this context of mutual mistrust and hatred, unbeknownst to their families, Nijimbere (a Mugabuzi) and Kamikazi (a Munyamazi) love each other and communicate regularly with the complicity of Mizero, Nijimbere's cousin. But circumstances will soon change the course of their lives and the entire community.

Rwanda, 2012. The country is emerging from an era of silence after the 1994 Tutsi genocide, and people's courts are being set up with the aim of bringing justice and reconciliation. Veneranda, a survivor, is convinced of the need for these trials. Despite pressures, she organises discussion sessions between victims and the families of the executioners. Therapy for some, an act of betrayal for others, these testimonial sessions revive and reveal the traumas that each of them try to overcome, in their own way. The wounds of Veneranda's past are exposed again when she learns of her daughter's unexpected pregnancy and the identity of the father. Veneranda has to face her own contradictions and the dark parts of her past.
