The police have a suspect in the murder, but the retired inspector is convinced they're wrong; he continues a methodical investigation. Linda and her husband separate, and there are complications. Will the stories cross or are they already twisted together?

An archaeologist is in danger because of his discoveries.

A recent widow has invited a group of family friends to her large and secluded country home. However, what the guests don't know is that the reason they've been assembled is that their host suspects one of them might be her husband's killer and she's intent on uncovering the identity of his murderer. As the guests begin to suspect each other, revealing long-kept and sinister secrets in the process, an unknown, black-gloved killer begins bumping them off in a variety of nasty ways.

Although the title (which translates as "Murders in Chicago") promises a gangster story, this is more of a murder mystery that kicks off with the seemingly accidental death of a construction worker, followed shortly after by that of a noted publisher (an uneasy-looking Eduardo Fajardo). What follows is a very confusing story in which the police, a police coroner (José Campos) and a vagrant (Fernando Sánchez Polack) who witnessed Fajardo's death embark on separate inquests on what actually happened. Meanwhile, June (María Luisa Rubio), who works as a secretary for the publishing company, is under pressure by a blackmailer (Antonio Jiménez Escribano) who has pictures of her in the sack with the deceased publisher.

Another candidate is an innocent girl who studies ballet abroad and is the daughter of a famous star, Cecilia Alcaraz. Soon the two girls become good friends and Catalina intends to succeed Alice. Alicia's success also benefits her friend making them the most famous theatrical couple times. But with success comes love, which is also a major impediment to their careers.
