Phileas Fogg är en ung, excentrisk uppfinnare i 1800-talets England. Han har redan uppfunnit elektricitet, flygmaskiner och inlines men ingen tror på hans idéer och i uppfinnarkretsar skrattar man bara åt honom. Desperat efter att få sin talang erkänd av omvärlden ingår han ett absurt vad: han ska resa jorden runt på endast 80 dagar – en fullständigt vansinnig och omöjlig utmaning. Men tillsammans med sin trogne följeslagare, den asiatiske kampsportsspecialisten och klåparen Passepartout, drar han ut på ett fartfyllt och spännande äventyr där han tvingas övervinna allehanda svårigheter i sin kamp för att vinna vadet!

Under det amerikanska inbördeskriget flyr några krigsfångar i en ballong och hamnar strandsatta på en ö i södra Stilla havet, bebodd av jättelika växter och djur. De måste använda sin uppfinningsrikedom för att överleva farorna och för att hitta ett sätt att återvända hem. Filmen bygger på en bok av Jules Verne och är uppföljaren till "En världsomsegling under havet".

Willy Fog is a British millionaire who bets that he will be able to go around the world in only eighty days.

The plot centres around Phileas Fogg making a £20,000 wager with three members of the Reform Club that he can circumnavigate the world in 80 days. He takes with him his newly employed French valet Passepartout, and is pursued by Detective Wilbur Fix who mistakenly thinks Fogg robbed the Bank of England and is using the wager as a cover to escape capture.

During the Civil War five survivors escape from a prison camp in Richmond, Virginia by hot air balloon and find themselves on an uncharted island in the Pacific. Far from any kind of known civilization, the island is inhabited with carnivorous monsters, bloodthirsty pirates, and mad genius Captain Nemo, who lives on the island for his own secretive ends.

Willy Fog is again challenged by Sullivan and embarks, with his friends, in search of a secret path to the center of the Earth and the depths of the sea.
