An ex-felon returns home from prison and must confront the demons of his past.

The Swedish 19th century engineer Salomon August Andrée sets out to become the first man on the north pole. His idea is to launch a polar expedition using a hydrogen balloon, together with two friends. The balloon, "The Eagle", takes off from Svalbard in 1897, but the three men are not heard of again.

Karl-Heinz, a filling-station attendant, and his family, Herta, a retiree, Kurt, a drugstore branch manager, and Margot, a divorced man-hunter, have only one thing in common: they have booked a holiday at Club Las Piranjas, where they want to relax from their nerve-racking occupations. But there are three people knowing a way to prevent this. Most notably the two animators Edwin and Biggy, who don't allow any amusement outside their own plans, and of course the always drunken club chief Mrs. Wenger, whose only thought is, that there shouldn't be any reclamation from the travel agency. Apart from the scruffy condition of the Club (no water in the pool, etc). and the obscure Club activities involving Biggy and Edwin, the vacation becomes a complete horror trip, with only one end in sight, which is to part from the club as soon as possible. Psychologist Kara Bischoff and LKA Commissioner Sibylle Deininger, once a couple, are reunited by a brutal murder case.

The film is based on a true occurrence in Sweden in 1988. A Finnish couple murdered a young boy and his parents when they prevented the theft of the son's bicycle. The film tries to describe the relationship between the dominant Jari, who calls himself "Il Capitano", and his more mature "soldier" Minna, that develops into mutual dependence.

Bob, a sympathetic young man, keeps telling women what they want to hear to have a good time. Just as he is about to marry the daughter of a very wealthy banker, her father does a little research on his future son-in-law and finds out the truth about Bob. He forces Bob to marry his daughter and behave like the perfect husband, or else... Unfortunately, Bob meets "The One" just a few days before the wedding and had also told her what she wanted to hear, all of this unbeknownst to his future wife. Then right as he's trying to extricate himself from those dilemmas, two very protective Turkish brothers of one of his past affairs are after him to take revenge for taking her virginity!
