Atunci când, după o furtună violentă, o ceață misterioasă acoperă niște creaturi supranaturale și cade peste orașul lor, câțiva localnici sunt nevoiți să se descurce singuri în timp ce sunt blocați într-un supermarket.

Rose și Christopher DaSilva sunt un cuplu ce nu au putut avea copii, așa că au adoptat-o pe Sharon, o fată lăsată la ușa orfelinatului. După o perioadă încep să se întâmple lucruri stranii cu aceasta fetiță de nouă ani: este somnambulă și întotdeauna vorbește despre un loc numit "Silent Hill".
