La treizeci de ani de la evenimentele primului film, un nou Vânător de Recompense, ofițerul K din LAPD, descoperă un vechi secret, care are potențialul de a arunca ce a mai rămas din societate, în haos. Descoperirea lui K, îl duce pe acesta în căutarea lui Rick Deckard, un fost Vânător de Recompense din LAPD care e dat dispărut timp de 30 de ani.

Există două lumi: prima, cea în care trăim zi de zi, și cea de-a doua, deloc cunoscută, paralelă cu cea reală. Una este vis. Cealaltă este Matricea. Neo încearcă din răsputeri să afle adevărul despre acea lume despre care a auzit vorbindu-se doar în șoaptă, lume misterioasă și plină de necunoscut. Dar ce este Matricea? Neo crede că Morpheus, o persoană pe care o cunoaşte doar din povești, un tip pe care nu-l prinzi niciodată, considerat în acelaşi timp cel mai periculos bărbat în viață, poate să-i dea acest răspuns. Dar adevărul pe care Neo îl află este mult peste așteptări. Iar viața lui nu va mai fi la fel.

Când Alita se trezește fără să-și amintească cine este, într-o lume din viitor pe care nu o recunoaște, ea este luată de Ido, un medic binevoitor care își dă seama că undeva în acest corp de cyborg abandonat se află inima și sufletul unei tinere cu un trecut extraordinar. Deși voia să se retragă, Deckard este obligat să revină când cinci clone evadează dintr-o colonie extraterestră și ajung pe Pământ.

Stabilit în viitorul apropiat, Upgrade înfățișează o lume în care tehnologia controlează aproape toate aspectele vieții. În această realitate este scufundat un tehnofob, Gray, a cărui lume este dată peste cap când soția sa este ucisă, iar singura sa speranță de răzbunare devine un implant de cip experimental numit „Stem”. După ce soția lui a fost ucisă în timpul unui jaf brutal, iar el rămâne paralizat, Gray Trace este abordat de un inventator miliardar cu un tratament experimental care îi poate actualiza corpul și reactiva mușchii atrofiați. Tratamentul, un implant de inteligență artificială numit „Stem”, îi oferă lui Gray abilități fizice dincolo de tot ceea ce a experimentat până acum și șansa de a se răzbuna împotriva celor care i-au ucis soția și l-au lăsat să moară.

Echipa trebuie să apere orașul Sion, ultimul bastion al oamenilor, după ce acesta este luat în vizor de mașinile care au creat Matricea.

În anul 2257, un șofer de taxi are în mod neintenționat sarcina de a salva o tânără care face parte din cheia care va asigura supraviețuirea omenirii.

Ca să afle dacă realitatea lui e o creație fizică sau a minții, Neo va trebui să-l urmărească din nou pe iepurele alb. Deja știe ce trebuie să facă, dar ce nu știe încă e că Matrixul e mai puternic și mai periculos decât înainte.

Detroit - undeva în viitor - este teatrul infracțiunilor și anarhiei și este condus de o corporație mamut. Compania a dezvoltat un uriaș robot de luptă care, din păcate, a scăpat de sub control. Compania vede o oportunitate în a modifica robotul în momentul în care un polițist este omorât - Alex Murphy. Corpul lui Murphy va fi reconstruit și montat în oțel și primește numele de RoboCop. Acesta va deveni foarte eficient în lupta împotriva gangsterilor și va fi următoarea țintă pentru capul acestora, Boddicker, autorul moral al uciderii lui Murphy.

Ultima parte a trilogiei Matricea îl găsește pe Neo inconștient, blocat într-o stație de metrou în zona dintre Matrice și lumea mașinilor.
