Den andre av to kinoutgivelser følger opp Neon Genesis Evangelion serien. Denne finalen består av to alternative episoder som først var ment å ta plassen for episodene 25 og 26, og svarer på mange av spørsmålene rundt serien, samtidig som den åpner for noen nye muligheter.

Etter hendelsen kalt "The Second Impact" blir Tokyo-3 angrepet av gigantiske skapninger kalt engler som prøver å utrydde menneskeheten. Gutten Shinji har som mål å bekjempe englene ved å føre en av de mystiske Evangelion mecha-enhetene. En nyinnspilling av de seks første episodene av GAINAXs berømte anime-serie fra 1996. Filmen fikk tittelen "Evangelion: 1.01" for DVD-utgivelsen og "Evangelion: 1.11" for en utgivelse med flere scener.

Fjorten år etter "Third Impact" våkner Shinji Ikari til en verden han ikke husker. Han har ikke blitt eldre. Mye av jorden er lagt i ruiner, NERV er lagt ned, og mennesker som han en gang beskyttet, har snudd seg imot han. Når han blir venn med den gåtefulle Kaworu Nagisa, fortsetter Shinji kampen mot englene og innser at kampene langt fra er over, selv når det kunne være mot hans tidligere allierte. Special Agency NERV to nye EVA-piloter som skal hjelpe til med å forsvare byen Tokyo-3: den mystiske Makinami Mari Illustrous og den intense Asuka Langley Shikinami. I mellomtiden fortsetter Gendo Ikari og SEELE med et hemmelig prosjekt som involverer både Rei og Shinji. Filmen fikk tittelen "Evangelion: 2.22" for DVD / Blu-ray-utgivelsen.

Gravion is an anime television series produced by Gonzo. It aired in Japan from October 7, 2002 to December 16, 2002 and ran for 13 episodes. In 2004, Gravion Zwei was released and aired from January 8 to March 25 in Japan, running for twelve additional episodes, answering the questions generated from the first series. Both Gravion and Gravion Zwei are created and directed by Masami Ōbari with mecha designs from Kunio Okawara. Both series were released in the United States by ADV Films.
