De Joker is ontsnapt. Terwijl Batman hem probeert gevangen te nemen, voert de Joker een psychologische oorlog met Batman. Daarbij valt de Joker commissaris James Gordon en zijn dochter aan om te bewijzen dat één enkele slechte dag iemand net zo gek maken als dat hij is.
