Het jaar van verkiezingen in Gotham City. Potentiële kandidaten voor het burgemeesterschap worden één voor één omgebracht door een mysterieus figuur dat bij elk van hen een raadsel achterlaat, geadresseerd aan de Batman. Het wordt vervolgens Batmans missie om te achterhalen wie deze schurk is.

Heel Gotham wordt overhoop gehaald nadat Roman Sionis, de grootste en meest narcistische schurk van de stad, en zijn toegewijde rechterhand Zsasz een prijs op het hoofd van het jonge meisje Cass hebben gezet. Dit leidt ertoe dat de paden van Harley, Huntress, Black Canary en Renee Montoya elkaar kruisen, waarna dit bijzondere viertal met elkaar zal moeten samenwerken om Roman te verslaan.
Na een snelle verkering nodigt de rijke vrijgezel Judas Carmichael een topless danseres uit om bij hem en zijn overvloedige verzameling exotische slangen te komen wonen.
Parijs, 1899: De jonge schrijver Christian reist af naar Montmartre en raakt bevriend met enkele Boheemse artiesten, die een levensstijl van vrijheid, waarheid, schoonheid en liefde naleven. Dit plan bestaat uit flink wat tijdreizen, en het kidnappen van de spion Nigel Powers, de vader van geheim agent Austin Powers. Terwijl Austin Dr. Evil, Mini-Me en Goldmember door de tijd achterna reist stopt hij in 1975. Hier krijgt hij hulp van een oude vriendin, detective Foxy Cleopatra.
Dankzij het grote vakmanschap van zijn advocaat Kleinfeld, komt de harde crimineel Carlito Brigante na een aantal jaren in de gevangenis te hebben gezeten vrij. Deze keer is Carlito vastbesloten op het rechte pad te blijven.

Dante is a short-lived NBC adventure/drama television series starring Howard Duff as Willie Dante, a former gambler who operates Dante's Inferno, a San Francisco, California, nightclub. Alan Mowbray co-starred as Stewart Styles, the Maitre d'; Tom D'Andrea as Biff, Dante's "man Friday", and Mort Mills as police Lieutenant Bob Malone. Dante claims to have put his past behind him but has retained old associates Stewart and Biff. While his club is legitimate, neither the police nor the mob believe that he is truly finished with the criminal underworld. Dante's old associates in crime keep appearing at the club in efforts to lure him back to the underworld. Dick Powell had previously played Dante in eight episodes of his Four Star Playhouse, initially written by Blake Edwards, who had previously created the radio drama Richard Diamond, Private Detective for Powell. There, Willie operates an illegal gambling operation in the back room of the "Inferno", which police soon shut down. The only regular from the Four Star Playhouse version to be cast in the series as well was Mowbray, who had first played a millionaire named Jackson who had gambled away his fortune and then worked as one of Dante's waiters. These episodes were subsequently rebroadcast under the collective title The Best in Mystery.
