A sleep-walking baby owl finds its way in Herman's house, and the friendly mouse makes friends with it. But the owl arouses Katnip, who takes out after it, but Herman always manages to rescue the little owl. The owl finally makes a nest for its self out of Katnip's fur which Herman has stripped off.
Popeye opens a diner; Bluto pulls one up right across the street. Wimpy comes along, and they compete for his business. The competition escalates, until finally they are throwing things at each other; Wimpy stands between them and snags a complete meal from the stream of objects passing overhead. Another spinach-free Popeye.
When Spooky learns that Casper has a date with Wendy to the beach instead of playing baseball, he plays tricks on them.

Snuffy, Barney and Louise are stranded in the big city with no money for a mule and a wagon until a pair of gangsters offer to buy them one if they will just deliver a note and a satchel to the nearby bank. Desperately in need of funds to return to Hootin' Holler, Snuffy gets a job helping out the men by standing guard outside of a building... not realizing that he's becoming an unwitting pawn to a pair of bank robbers. The chase is on. The only clue to the robbery is a photograph of Snuffy's hat
Casper the Friendly Ghost, and world-traveler, visits a castle in England which is haunted by a really-old titled ghost, who is forced to remain until an heir can be found to replace him, and he can go to the Ghost Retirement Home.
Snuffy, Loweezy, and Barney are stranded in the city. When Loweezy goes to find some vittles for them, she meets an actress, Beulah Beulah, who is to play a hillbilly woman in a stage drama. Loweezy helps the actress research the role, even to Beulah's dressing exactly like Loweezy. But confusion ensues when Snuffy sees Beulah outside the theater and mistakes her for Loweezy.
Herman the mouse and his little mice pals are having a good time in River City's pool-hall, that doesn't have a billiards table anywhere in it...and that spells trouble when mice are playing pocket pool, and it soon arrives in the form of Katnip Kat looking to cause some disturbance. But, having just read a horror book, Katnip is a bit off his usual game and is a bit nervous. Herman, crafty as ever, plays on these fears and Katnip is scared off.
