Kuomet JAV paskelbė, kad išves savo pajėgas iš Afganistano, šalyje kilo panika, o pasaulyje – skandalas, paaiškėjus, kad amerikiečiai „ant ledo“ paliko tūkstančius vietinių gyventojų, bendradarbiavusių su JAV. Dabar jiems visiems grėsė mirtis. Patruliuodamas Afganistane, JAV armijos seržantas Džonas Kinlis į savo būrį kaip pagalbininką gauna vietinį vertėją Ahmedą. Kuomet Džono būrys patenka į Talibano pasalą, žūsta visi, išskyrus juos du. Po daugybės metų, praleistų toli nuo tėvynės saulėtoje Amerikos Kalifornijos valstijoje, Amiras sugrįžta į gimtąjį Afganistaną. Jį parveda kaltė. Bičiulio Hassano sūnus pateko į bėdą, ir Amiras negali ištarti „Ne“. Priežasčių, kodėl jis negali atsisakyti padėti, yra daugybė, tačiau svarbiausia - sąžinė. Tikrais įvykiais paremta kino juosta nukels žiūrovus į Kamdešo miestą Afganistane, kur 2009 metais vyko kruviniausios tų metų kautynės tarp JAV karininkų ir Talibano kovotojų. 54-iems amerikiečių kariams, dalyvavusiems beprotiškoje talibų karinėje atakoje Kamdeše, 2009 metų spalio 3 diena, įsirėžė į atmintį visiems laikams. Itin atšiauriame ir kalnuotame Afganistano regione, naktį užėmę pozicijas kalnų šlaituose, talibai surengė pasalą prieš JAV karinę bazę – „Combat outpost Keating“. Brėkštant rytui intensyvi reaktyvinių granatų ir minosvaidžių švino kruša pasipylė į slėnyje įsikūrusią stovyklą. Apie 300 talibų stojo prieš 54 – amerikiečius ir 2 latvius. Paryčiui prasidėjus atakai, beveik iškart užpultas stebėjimo punktas, o 48 – ąją atakos minutę „Keatingo“ posto perimetras pralaužtas 3-jose vietose.

Ross Kemp in Afghanistan, also known as Ross Kemp: Return to Afghanistan for series 2, is a Sky One British documentary series fronted by actor Ross Kemp about the British soldiers fighting in the War in Afghanistan as part of the International Security Assistance Force mission against the Taliban. The two series involved Kemp and a small embedded film crew following troops fighting in Helmand Province, documenting their part in the ongoing Operation Herrick. Ross Kemp in Afghanistan, first broadcast in January 2008, followed the 2007 deployment of the 1st Battalion of the Royal Anglian Regiment. As a follow-up to the first series, Ross Kemp: Return to Afghanistan, first broadcast from 1 February 2009, followed the 2008 deployment of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, the 5th battalion of the Royal Regiment of Scotland.
