Panelė Elizabeta Hesli (akt. Cameron Diaz) ruošėsi ištekėti už turtingo vyro ir visiems laikam palikti nekenčiamą mokytojos darbą. Deja, jaunikis netikėtai atšaukia vestuves ir Elizabetai nelieka nieko kito kaip grįžti į mokyklą. Tai, ką Elizabeta jaučia mokytojos darbui, pavadinti neapykanta būtų per švelnu. Jis atvirai demonstruoja panieką mokyklos institucijai miegodama pamokose, rūkydama žolę mokyklos teritorijoje, keikdamasi kaip vežikas ir gerdama darbo metu. Tačiau vieną gražią dieną nutinka stebuklas ir „puikioji" mokytoja atranda priežastį - tiksliau, priežastis pasirodo mokykloje - eiti į darbą. Mokykloje, kurioje dirba panelė Hesli, pasirodo pavaduojantis mokytojas Skotas Delakoras (akt. Justin Timberlake).

Beviltiškai reikalaujant pertraukos nuo biuro, du nepriekaištingi padėjėjai susiburia į komandą, kad apgautų savo darboholikus bosus, tam kad jie įsimylėtų vienas kitą.

Žinoma, vakarėlio kontrolė jau po pirmosios valandos ima slysti iš Klėjaus rankų. Jo sustabdyti nebepajėgia netgi netikėtai atvykusi Kerolė. Apimta siaubo, ji tegali stebėti, kaip kalėdinis firmos balius virsta Apokalipsės vertu „tūsu“, kurį tikrai būtina pamatyti.
