Senovės Egipte žynys Imhotepas mėgaujasi slapta meile su faraono meiluže. Tačiau jų paslaptis išaiškėja. Nusižudžius mylimajai, Imhotepas metą iššūkį dievams ir šie jį žiauriai nubaudžia. Imhotepo kūnas virsta mumija, tačiau pats jis per amžius lieka gyvas, įkalintas kūne ir mirusiųjų miesto požemiuose… Po keliasdešimties amžių į Egiptą atvyksta trys nuotykių ieškotojai: Rikas, Evelina ir jos brolis Džonatanas. Jie ieško nepaprastų lobių ir dingusių rankraščių, tačiau atranda Imhotepo mumiją ir… atgaivina…

1935 m. Londonas. Rikas O`Connellas ir Evelyn jau dešimt metų gyvena susituokę ir laimingi. Jie augina 9-erių metų sūnų Alexą ir vis dar nepamiršta kraupaus susidūrimo su baisiuoju visagaliu Egipto faraonu, kuris buvo išleistas iš mumijos ir sukėlė didžiąsias smėlio audras. Taip jaunoji porelė galėtų ramiai ir gyventi, tačiau idilę sudrumsčia Londono tarptautinio meno muziejaus darbuotojai. Tarptautinio muziejaus vadovybė nusprendžia surengti senovės Egipto mumijų ekspoziciją. Svarbiausi parodos eksponatai - piktojo žynio Imhotepo ir seksualiosios jo meilužės Anck-Su-Numan likučiai. Ir mumijos antrą kartą atgyja, sukeldamos didžiulę grėsmę visai žmonijai.

Negailestingam tamsos dievui Setui (aktorius Gerard‘as Butler‘is) užgrobus Egipto sostą, kažkada klestėjusi šalis paniro į chaosą. Žiauriam tironui priešinasi tik atskiros grupelės sukilėlių. Naudodamasis savo beribe valdžia, Setas pagrobia nuostabaus grožio merginą Zają (akt. Courtney Eaton). Ją įsimylėjęs paprastas vaikinas Bekas (akt. Brenton‘as Thwaites‘as) pasiryžta išlaisvinti Zają. Sugebėjęs pagalbon pasitelkti galingąjį dangaus dievą Horusą, Bekas iškeliauja vaduoti savo meilės.

Kvapą gniaužianti istorinė drama, apie legedinį Mozę – pranašą, išvadavusi izraelitus iš Egipto vergovės ir atvedusi juos per dykumą iki Kanaano sienos. Filme iš naujo pažvelgiama į istoriją, kai Mozė dykumoje pamatė liepsnojantį, tačiau nesudegantį krūmą. Netrukus šis prabilo Dievo balsu ir liepė Mozei keliauti į Egiptą ir paprašyti faraono, kad jis paleistų iš nelaisvės izraelitų tautą. Faraonui nesutikus, egiptiečius ištiko dešimt nelaimių – vanduo virtęs krauju, varlių antplūdis, kūdikių mirtys... Galiausiai Mozė išsivedė izraelitus į daugybę metų trukusią, iššūkių ir sunkumų kupiną, tačiau vilties persunktą kelionę, kuri tapo viena įspūdingiauių istorijų žmonijos atmintyje.

Norėdamas padaryti įspūdį, Šermanas apie paslaptingąją mašiną prasitaria savo pašėlusiai simpatijai Penei. Ši pasiutėlė neatsispiria pagundai išmėginti Laiko mašiną ir nukeliauti į kitus laikus. Šitaip prasideda didieji nuotykiai…

Kartą gražuolė Kleopatra susiginčijo su savo meilužiu romėnų valdovu Julijumi Cezariu, kas talentingesni – egiptiečiai ar romėnai. Išdidžioji karalienė pažadėjo per kelis mėnesius pastatyti miestą. Jeigu jai tai pavyks, Cezaris pripažins, kad jos tėvynainiai talentingiausi. Karalienė patiki šią užduotį jaunam architektui Niumirobiui. Laimė, kažkada tėvas jam pasakojo apie stebuklingą galų gėrimą, suteikiantį žmogui nepaprastų galių. Vaikinas išvyksta ieškoti galingojo galų druido, kad duotų jam lašelį to eliksyro. Čia jam į pagalbą ateina sumanieji galai – Asteriksas ir Obeliksas. O pakeliui jie geria savo stebuklingąjį, didžiųjų jėgų suteikianti eliksyrą ir ramiai nugali visus sutiktus priešus: mumijas, piratus ir kitokius chuliganus. Visi kartu jie pastato nuostabų miestą dykumoje ir pradžiugina gražuolę karalienę.

Po Egipto piramidėmis slypinčiame požeminiame mumijų mieste gyvena Tutas, meistriškai vairuojantis karietas (senovinis mumijų sportas, iš kurio išsivystė Formulė-1). Faraonui įsakius, Tutas privalo vesti princesę Neferę (nors nė vienas iš jų netrykšta simpatija vienas kitam), į vestuves privalo atsinešti imperatoriškąjį žiedą, kuris lyg tyčia... dingo. Žiedą suranda lordas Silvestras Karnabis – ambicingas ir ne itin malonaus tipas. Tai sužinojęs, Tutas ryžtasi leistis į žmonių pasaulį, kad surastų jam teisėtai priklausančią relikviją. Kartu su princese Nefere, dvylikamečiu broliuku Sekhemu ir pastarojo naminiu gyvūnėliu – krokodiliuku, išsiruošia į kelionę ir atsiduria mūsų dienų Londone, o ten užverda tokie nesusipratimai, kuriozai ir nuotykiai, kad tik spėk dairytis.

Jeigu jai pavyks, Cezaris pagaliau pripažins, kad jos tėvynainiai talentingiausi. Tačiau visi žymūs Egipto architektai atsisako šio milžiniško darbo, kuris atitenka nelaimingajam Numerobiui. Caesar becomes sexually obsessed by the 18 year old queen, beds her, and eventually has a son by her. However, his Roman followers and his wife are not pleased by the union. In fact, as Caesar has only a daughter by his wife, he had picked Octavian as his successor.

The Mummy: The Animated Series is an animated television series produced by Universal Animation Studios to capitalize on the success of The Mummy. It premiered on Kids' WB! On the The WB network on September 29, 2001. It is set sometime between 1920 and 1934. The characters and plot were derived from the film, but the series could not replicate its success, efforts to make it consistent with real-world features were almost non-existent as, for example, Lake Titicaca is described as both puma-head shaped and as being found below the ruins of Macchu Picchu. The poor quality of the animation disappointed fans of the special effects-laden movie. It was retooled and rechristened The Mummy: Secrets of the Medjai for its second season, which began on February 15, 2003. Although the quality is considered to have improved between the first and second seasons, the show failed to find an audience and was cancelled on June 7, 2003. Reruns of the show aired on Toon Disney. The entire series was released on DVD in America R1 in three volumes on July 22, 2008.
