Psichologinė ir fizinė kančia baigiasi tik po 15 metų, kai O DAE-SU tiesiog praranda sąmonę nuo nervus paralyžuojančių dujų ir pramerkia akis jau nežinomo miesto gatvėje. Vyras atgauna laisvę lygiai taip pat netikėtai, kaip ir pateko į paslaptingąjį kalėjimą.
