In 1918, after the end of the Balkan Wars and the First World War, hundreds of Macedonians immigrated to Bulgaria. Among them there were pro-Bulgarian Macedonians who wanted to exploit the emigrants for their own political purposes. A number of decent freedom fighters were eliminated. The victim of one of the assassins in Sofia was Djorche Petrov. His assassin is a young boy who doesn't even know that he is shooting dead the man who is one of the last real fighters for the freedom of Macedonia. By discovering that he has been unknowingly involved in the pro-Bulgarian organization and has been used for an execution of this vile act, it means the death sentence for the young boy.

After several years they meet again at the "Solidarity Meetings" event, which is held in Skopje, where Wily Muller is a conductor at a concert held on that occasion. Those several days, spent together with the conductor, for Jana mean fulfillment with a kind of reminiscence of her family tragedy experienced during Skopje's earthquake, and also a wondering and search for a way of starting life again, which stopped on the day of the earthquake. Although the possibility of going with Muller is very attractive, Jana stays in Skopje. Her place is beside the young man whom she loves and belongs to, with whom she is related with true love...

All partisans patrol that went with him dying and the only Mitko and Vane, who was seriously injured remain alive. Thinking it was dead Vane, Angelov returns to the brigade. But the commander did not believe him, thinking that he had fled from the battle, and that is why the prison in the basement. In the meantime, get wounded fighter Vane, and the story of the heroic struggle led by Mitko. But at the same time, a military court condemned him to death for desertion.

The film describes the life of the last Macedonian nomadic ethnic group, so called Karakachani. In 18th century, their ancestors, ants of the Traco-Illyrian, leaded by Papucoroshi, as a result of the Turkish oppression withdrew from Gramos, passing through the Macedonian mountains. They settled the surroundings of the mountain Osogovo, particularly the village Vrbica, in Kochani’s district. Nowadays, they can be seen dressed in black, on market days through the towns of Eastern Macedonia. In spring, before they leave on their nomadic trip with the flocks of sheep, at first they fleece the sheep and make various handmade products for domestic use. During their stay in the mountains, they are occupied with milk production and manufacturing. They live a quiet nomadic life, moving themselves from one pasture to another with their whole equipment. They spend the winter period in the warmer districts, along the valley of the Vardar River.
