Arthur Tracy and Lilli Palmer star in this 1930's British romantic drama. With his voice faltering due to nerves, celebrated stage performer "The Street Singer" (Tracy) parts company with the theatre and goes to live in a gypsy camp where he meets and falls in love with Susan (Palmer), an attractive young woman who is unaware of his fame.

When a reporter is killed under mysterious circumstances, the political cartoonist on his paper begins to investigate on his own. He finds that a vengeful industrialist may be trying to manipulate an international peace conference to stage a bombing attack on London.

Real-life palm reader Josef Ranald helps people two determine their futures. Some sources claim this British film was never released, or even finished, until 1956 when American Ron Ormond acquired it and added a brief sequence about a girl hitchhiker and a psycho motorist, releasing it finally as The Eternal Question.

Set in 15th-century Italy, The Cardinal stars Matheson Lang as one Cardinal de Medici. Bound by the rules of the confessional, the cardinal is unable to disclose the multitude of sins revealed to him by one of his most influential parishioners. De Medici's dilemma is compounded by the fact that the confessor has committed a murder for which the Cardinal's brother has been arrested. The basic plot gimmick was good for another go-round in the 1953 Hitchcock flick I Confess. This 7-reel British film was based on a play by Louis N. Parker.
