The rise of Janos Hunyadi and his battles in the wars against the Ottomans in 15th century Europe. The series follows Hunyadi’s adventures leading to the Siege of Belgrade in 1456, a pivotal battle in which Hunyadi led the Hungarian forces to successfully repel an invasion by the Ottoman Empire. Hunyadi’s bravery and military prowess earned him the nickname ‘The White Knight of Christendom.’ The show explores Hunyadi’s life, plagued by scandal, political power plays and conspiracies between noble families from Warsaw, Rome, Belgrade and Vienna. His strongest allies are the women in his life including his life partner Elizabeth Szilagyi. Produced by BETA Film in partnership with Hungarian National Film Institute.
