I membri scelti per l’unità sono il leader Fumio Tamura, lo stratega esecutivo Shinji Kaminaga, il fisico senza particelle Taki Akihisa e la biologa universale Yume Funaberi. Mentre la minaccia delle specie di classe S si aggrava, un gigante d’argento appare da oltre l’atmosfera terrestre. L'analista Hiroko Asami, compagna di Kaminaga e neo-nominata all’SSSP per occuparsi di questo gigante, fa rapporto scrivendo: “Ultraman (nome provvisorio), identità sconosciuta”.
