Marty McFly è stato catapultato per errore nel 1955, grazie alla macchina del tempo ideata dal suo amico scienziato Doc. Non avendo più "carburante" per poter tornare nel futuro si rivolge alla versione più giovane di Doc, che nonostante l'incredulità iniziale si farà in quattro per aiutarlo. Ma nel 1955 non è solo Doc ad essere più giovane, Marty infatti si imbatte casualmente nei suoi genitori, all'epoca teenager, ma l'incontro aggiungerà altri problemi.
Dopo gli eventi in Oklahoma, la famiglia Spengler torna dove tutto è iniziato, l'iconica caserma dei pompieri di New York, e si unisce agli Acchiappafantasmi originali che hanno sviluppato un laboratorio di ricerca top-secret per portare la lotta ai fantasmi a un livello superiore. Quando la scoperta di un antico artefatto scatenerà una forza malvagia, i vecchi e nuovi Ghostbusters dovranno unire le forze per proteggere la loro casa e salvare il mondo da una seconda era glaciale.
L'imperatore Kuzco sta per compiere 18 anni ma è troppo pieno di sé per trovare una sposa 'adeguata'. Compie però l'errore di licenziare l'anziana consigliera Izma che si vendica con l'aiuto del fusto Kronk che le fa da chaperon. Il proposito è quello di avvelenarlo ma, per un errore, di Kronk, la pozione non lo uccide, ma lo trasforma in un lama (parlante ovviamente). L'imperatore lama finisce così sul carro del campagnolo Pacha col quale avvia un rapporto amichevolmente conflittuale. La loro alleanza porterà comunque alla sconfitta di Izma e al ritorno dell'Imperatore a un'umanità completa (anche in rapporto agli altri).
Alcuni extraterrestri compiono un esperimento genetico, che purtroppo non ha gli esiti sperati: il risultato è Stitch, un buffo animaletto, che ben presto riuscirà a fuggire. Stitch atterra sul pianeta terra, più precisamente alle Hawaii, dove viene adottato dalla piccola Lilo e dalla sua famiglia, e imparerà l'importanza dell'amore e della solidarietà.
