Il film mostra le sofferenze dei pinguini durante la loro riproduzione, partendo dalla marcia che dall'oceano li porterà all'interno della regione ghiacciata. Qui si formeranno le coppie che si riprodurranno e aspetteranno la nascita del loro unico figlio. Alcuni piccoli muoiono dal freddo ed il motivo è perché uno dei pinguini ha sbagliato qualche passo della loro danza facendo così cadere l'uovo nel ghiaccio e facendolo congelare... e allora la madre va a rubare il figlio ad un altro pinguino

Earth - La nostra Terra (Earth) è un documentario naturalistico del 2007 destinato al cinema, realizzato dalla BBC Natural History Unit come primo film della Disneynature. Il film è uscito in contemporanea mondiale il 22 aprile 2009. Il documentario è una co-produzione britannica, statunitense e tedesca, girata interamente in alta definizione con l'ausilio del 35mm e delle più innovative tecniche di ripresa. Earth utilizza alcune delle sequenze della serie di documentari BBC HD Planet Earth.
