A Helsinki si incrociano i destini del cinquantenne Wikhström, che ha deciso di cambiare vita lasciando la moglie e il lavoro di venditore per aprire un ristorante, e del giovane rifugiato siriano Khaled. Bloccato per caso nella capitale finlandese, Khaled ha visto respinta la sua domanda di asilo ma ha deciso comunque di rimanere. Una sera, Wikhström lo trova nel cortile del suo ristorante e, toccato dalla sua storia, decide di prenderlo sotto la sua ala protettiva.

The series deals with the alienation of the Egyptian family in search of money and its impact on the cohesion of the family and on the future of their children, through Zahra, who travels with her husband to one of the Gulf countries, and when the children reach the university stage, the mother is forced to return them to Egypt.
