Il protettore del regno acquatico di Seatopia, un gigantesco insetto chiamato Megalon, viene inviato contro gli esseri umani. Ma per poterlo comandare è necessario rubare l'ultima invenzione del professor Goro Ibuki. Si tratta di un cyborg molto avanzato che però sfugge al controllo degli invasori e si scaglia contro Megalon. Dallo spazio in soccorso di Megalon giunge Gigan. Adesso sono due mostri a combattere contro un solo cyborg ma in suo aito arriva Godzilla.
Due orribili mostri stanno distruggendo Tokyo e Godzilla, accorso come sempre per difendere la Terra, si trova in difficoltà. In realtà, sotto sembianze umane, gli abitanti della Nebulosa M, non potendo più vivere sui loro pianeti contaminati, hanno deciso di impradonirsi del nostro pianeta. Ecco allora che Godzilla, Gigan, Anguirus, il tricefalo volante spaziale King Ghidorah, Mothra, Rodan, il gigantesco ragno Kumonga, Kamacuras, Minilla, il figlio di Godzilla, e Gorosaurus tornano a combattere per la salvezza del genere umano mentre le forze armate giapponesi si dimostrano, ancora una volta, prive di efficacia nelle azioni difensive.
