Our hero, Lajos, a drunken ex-cop in his fifties, back from the jaws of death. His old friend Feri, who is always anxious and wrestling with bad premonitions; and his wife, Etus, who believes in both the omnipotence of love and the afterlife. And, of course, there's their close friend Tibi, in his twenties, who's obsessed with paranormal phenomena and conspiracy theories - especially since his parents were struck by a ball lightning bolt. The four-strong group of friends is bound together by a fascination with esotericism and spiritualism - they are joined by Etus's sister, the recently widowed Évike, who, thanks to Etus's domestic magic, is hopelessly in love with Lajos. Meanwhile, Lajos, who works as a security guard, is in deep trouble: he is granted a two-day reprieve by the underworld-connected art dealer Mr Faragó to settle his debt of millions.

1213 Queen Gertrude of Meran's compatriots are playing the dorba in the royal castle. The unpeaceful Hungarian nobles are watching the dárido, and under the leadership of King Petur they are plotting. Their anger is only increased by the fact that while the king's viceroy, Bánk bán, who is fighting in the distance, is roaming the country, his wife, the beautiful Melinda, who has been left at court, is being besieged more and more openly by the queen's lecherous brother Otto. Petur secretly recalls Bánko, who, however, accuses the unpeaceful of treason. But Otto's confidant, the knight Biberach, tells Banach that the prince is trying to seduce Melinda. Otto, encouraged by the Queen, prepares to make a decisive attack. He pursues his lover Melinda in the castle's cloisters and chapel, and she rejects him contemptuously, but is nevertheless in a misunderstood position. Bánk, who has just seen them, is shocked: it seems that his adoring spouse is indeed unfaithful...

This time, Kapa and Pepe are first of all prisoners of war – and convicts taken to forced labor service, Jews, Hungarian soldiers, German soldiers. Once they are to be executed, then again they are to perform executions. The film tells in spectacular episodes about the fact that in the past more than one century and a half we kept marching from war to war; occupation and liberation turned out to be indifferent, and why couldn’t the Jews execute the SS-guys? Our heroes hover about dilapidated barracks, then again on the bridges of the capital they guess whose satellites or eternal friends for all times we might be just now. In the cupboard, among the preserved fruit bottles, Stalin is still hiding. The authors of the film are cited before court, then in a showcase hospital they are waiting for the end to come. A Soviet soldier-maid closes the film with a Péter Nádas-quote.
