Dengan berlatar di Kamboja, 'Buoyancy' menceritakan kisah Chakra (Sarm Heng), seorang remaja keras kepala berusia 14 tahun. Chakra yang sakit-sakitan karena keberadaannya yang biasa-biasa saja di pedesaan Kamboja. Setelah konfrontasi eksplosif dengan ayahnya yang keras, ia membuat rencana dan buru-buru ingin melintasi perbatasan dan hijrah ke Thailand. Hal tersebut dilakukan dengan harapan mendapatkan pekerjaan pabrik yang dibayar dengan baik. Tetapi bocah itu ditipu oleh seorang pialang tanpa ampun, didorong ke atas kapal tua yang, dan dipaksa menjadi pekerja kasar oleh kapten yang sangat sadis bernama Rom Ran ( Thanawut Kasro ). (2)

Dramatic events unfold in Croatia and Ukraine. The first girl drowned, the second one died from a drug overdose. The main suspect in these deaths, however, soon turns out to be innocent - and dead too. The drama explores how these girls were groomed, how they were ignored by the authorities directly responsible for protecting them, and how they eventually made themselves heard.
