ראקל מאוהבת כבר המון זמן בשכן החתיך שלה. כשהוא מתחיל סוף-סוף לגלות בה עניין, מתפתח ביניהם קשר רומנטי – למרות התנגדות משפחתו.

רימייק לסרטו הפרנואידי של ג'ון מיליוס מ-1983. שם היו אלה כוחות סובייטו-קובאנים שפולשים לאמריקה בשיא המלחמה הקרה ופוצחים במלחמת העולם ה-3, וכאן מדובר בצבא הצפון קוריאני. קבוצת צעירים מוושינגטון מוצאת את עצמה תחת מתקפה של כוחות אכזריים מקוריאה. במתקפה נהרג אביו של הנחת ג'ד אקרט. הוא, אחיו הצעיר וחבריהם, בורחים לבקתה מבודדת ויוצרים קבוצת גרילה מחתרתית הנקראת "הוולברינים" שתלחם בכוחות הקוריאנים. במהרה הם הופכים לפלוגת חיסול חסרת מורא שלא תוותר על הבסת הפולש שמאיים על ביתם.
