Chile, early 20th century. José Menéndez, a wealthy landowner, hires three horsemen to mark out the perimeter of his extensive property and open a route to the Atlantic Ocean across vast Patagonia.

Santiago, gay single father, has reached a tipping point in his life. Reeling from a bitter breakup, he is facing the impending departure of his daughter Laila, with whom he shares a close yet emotionally charged relationship. As the fear of being alone threatens to swallow him whole, his behavior becomes increasingly erratic. It seems to be quite a privilege for a kid like him, and he quickly becomes the favourite of the leader of the colony, Uncle Paul. Over time, Pablo witnesses some kind of strange things which happen there and make him act differently than the other students.

1984. Lidia, an intrepid 12 year-old girl, lives in an isolated mining village affected by an unknown illness that has already killed several men and, according to rumours, is transmitted when a man falls in love with another by looking into each other's eyes. Her beloved brother Alexo, an obese homosexual, is found guilty of carrying the disease and the townspeople decide to tie him up and keep watch over him. This pushes Lidia to confront the ignorance of a myth and put the relationship with her family to the test.

On the night of October 19, 2019, a total curfew is issued in Chile because of the popular revolt. Andres ignores the order and goes out to look for his daughter, who has gone out to protest. The military coup awakens a deep fear in him: in a conversation, it is revealed that Andres is not the girl’s father, drastically changing the course of the story.
