An adaptation of Helena Boguszewska's well-known novel from 1933. The film takes place two years before Colombian ants take control of a plane flying to the States.

Three construction workers live together in a tiny apartment while building a new factory. When their foreman, Kolecki, is fired for neglecting his professional duties, the trio bands together to keep the production on course.

Tadeusz, a junior high school student, visits to his forester grandfather who lives in an ancient forest. During one of the hunts, his grandfather tells him about the rumors circulating around about a treasure sunk in the lake.

Contemporary Poland. Teenager Zosia Zadora decides to start an adult life. She runs away from home, settles with two friends in the Tri-City. Here she experiences her first love. The sympathizer, twenty-year-old Kostek, turns out to be the head of a criminal group. Zosia's roommates are involved in the procedure. When Kostek is arrested, the girl, after some hesitation, becomes a prostitute. She tries to hide her profession from a young sailor she met, Stefan Janiak, with whom she began to have feelings. One day the man learns the truth.

A story about the inhabitants of Warsaw's Praga from the late 1970s. There are representatives of the social margin among them, but there are also a collector of works of art, an ex-peasant who keeps raising peacocks, an old woman collecting dolls. This extremely colorful company lives in old, demolished tenement houses.

The main character, Wojtek, is a country boy who, against all odds, decided to become a doctor and, despite enormous difficulties, realized this goal. After graduating from the Medical Academy, he took a job in one of the hospitals in Lodz. Returning to the places of his childhood and early youth, Wojtek realizes what he has lost. But it is only when the hero's father dies that a breakthrough in his life takes place.
