Eva et Franklin ont un fils, Kevin. Eva sacrifie sa carrière pour l'élever, et dès la naissance de l'enfant, la relation entre la mère et son fils est particulière. Les deux évoluent dans un climat extrêmement malsain. Kevin manipule son entourage, révélant sa véritable nature à sa mère tout en se faisant passer aux yeux de son père pour un garçon doux et aimant. Sa mère est alors forcée de subir l'attitude de son fils sans pouvoir s'extirper de sa situation.
