Shôyô Hinata entre au club de volley-ball du lycée Karasuno pour devenir comme son idole, un ancien joueur de Karasuno connu sous le nom de « petit géant ». Hinata découvre rapidement qu’il doit faire équipe avec son rival, Tobio Kageyama. Leurs styles que tout oppose se transforment en une arme surprenante, mais parviendront-ils à battre l’équipe rivale de Nekoma dans cette ultime confrontation ?
Le meneur de jeu de Shohoku, Ryota Miyagi, joue toujours intelligemment et à la vitesse de l'éclair, contournant ses adversaires tout en gardant son sang-froid. Né et élevé à Okinawa, Ryota avait un frère aîné de trois ans de plus. Sur les traces de ce dernier, joueur local célèbre dès son plus jeune âge, Ryota est également devenu accro au basket. En deuxième année de lycée, Ryota fait partie de l'équipe de basket-ball du lycée Shohoku, aux côtés de Sakuragi, Rukawa, Akagi et Mitsui, et participe au championnat national inter-lycées. À présent, ils sont sur le point de se mesurer aux champions en titre, les joueurs du lycée Sannoh Kogyo.

On suit le match entre Shohoku et Tsukubu. Dans les versions animées et manga, ce passage est largement coupé ; on apprend simplement les résultats sans pour autant voir réellement la scène.
Tomoko mène un groupe de filles qui s'ennuient et qui sont bloquées dans une classe estivale de rattrapage de maths. Le groupe décide de sécher les cours de leur ennuyeux professeur pour livrer des déjeuners à la fanfare de l'école. Mais la paresse extrême des filles fait que les repas sont avariés, et bientôt la fanfare entière tombe malade. Le membre restant, Takuo, décide de recruter toutes ces filles, qui ne savent pas jouer d'un instrument, pour monter une formation de jazz et participer à un concours de musique local.
Cinq lycéennes japonaises forment un groupe de punk-rock. Elles ont prévu de monter sur scène pour le festival du lycée mais la chanteuse se blesse trois jours avant le concert. Il faut alors trouver quelqu’un pour la remplacer.
Ichiro Mizusawa, joueur de l'équipe de l'école Rukawa, apprend une terrible nouvelle. Selon les médecins, il développe un grave problème à la jambe qui l'empêchera bientôt de pratiquer sa passion. Pas prêt à quitter le terrain, il décide de jouer son dernier match en faisant honneur aux couleurs de son lycée. Il sera aidé par Hanamichi, qui va le soutenir dans sa démarche.
Après avoir perdu un match colossal contre la team Kainan, Shohoku est mis au défi par une équipe encore inconnue, Ryoukufu. Anzai, le coach, voit là une occasion pour son équipe de se défoncer et de redorer son blason, mais le retour à la gloire ne sera pas sans embûche, car l'équipe Ryoukufu, qui dispose d'une très bonne réputation, ne se laissera pas faire !
Il s'agit d'un film d'animation récapitulant la seconde saison de la série TV en rajoutant des scènes inédites.
Pour augmmenter la popularité d'une petite île, et pour attirer des visiteurs dans le but de pouvoir la sauver, une équipe de Water boys va être créée, aidée par un des membres de la seconde épopée.
La vie paisible de l’intrépide Chihaya prend un tout autre tournant le jour où Arata, un élève fraîchement transféré dans son école lui fait découvrir le Karuta (jeu de cartes traditionnel japonais aux influences littéraires). Mais plus qu’un amour pour le jeu, c’est le fait qu’elle puisse partager ce loisir avec Arata et son ami de toujours, Taichi, qui rend la fillette aussi heureuse. Cependant, le départ de Arata à la fin de l’école primaire créé une blessure auprès des trois amis. Les années passent et Chihaya est aujourd’hui au lycée. Elle retrouve Taichi qu’elle avait perdu de vue au collège. Malheureusement, le temps passe et les gens changent. Taichi n’éprouve plus d’intérêt pour le Karuta mais reste attaché à Chihaya. Alors que Arata n’a plus donné de nouvelles depuis des années, Chihaya prend conscience qu’elle est seule mais compte devenir la numéro un au Karuta pour atteindre le titre de Queen of Karuta…
Qualifiée pour le championnat national de karuta, l’équipe du lycée Mizusawa emmenée par Chihaya et Taichi est cependant en proie à de nombreux doutes. Taichi essaie de monter en grade secrètement tandis que Chihaya s’est trouvée une rivale personnelle en la personne de Wakamiya Shinobu et passe donc son temps à s’entraîner seule contre des gauchers, négligeant la compétition par équipe. Devant le drame vécu par leur ancien ami Arata, Chihaya et Taichi vont cependant reprendre conscience de l’importance de l’esprit de groupe dans leur discipline.
Chihaya et Taichi sont désormais en terminale. Il s’agit donc de leur dernier chance de briller ensemble aux championnats nationaux de karuta sous la bannière du lycée Mizusawa. De son côté, Arata a monté une équipe dans son lycée à Fukui et espère bien pouvoir affronter ses anciens camarades. Cependant, juste avant les éliminatoires, Taichi choisit de quitter le club de karuta pour se consacrer aux examens d’entrée à l’université.

When Minato Narumiya joins Prefectural Kazemai High School, he is quickly invited to join the archery club by the club's advisor, Tommy-sensei. His childhood friends Seiya Takehaya and Ryohei Yamanouchi swiftly agree to join, but Minato is hesitant at first. Because Minato is the rare student with experience in archery, Tommy-sensei orders him to give a demonstration, which Minato does... except his arrow doesn't hit the target. It is revealed that Minato has developed a terrible dysfunction regarding archery.
On her first day attending the all-girls Nanamori Middle School in Takaoka, Toyama Akaza Akari oversleeps, to be awakened by her one-year-senior childhood friends: the level-headed Funami Yui and the often self-centered Toshinou Kyouko. After swearing off music due to an incident at the middle school regional brass band competition, euphonist Kumiko Oumae enters high school hoping for a fresh start.
