Chihiro, 10 ans, a tout d’une petite fille capricieuse. Elle s’apprête à emménager avec ses parents dans une nouvelle demeure. Sur la route, la petite famille se retrouve face à un immense bâtiment rouge au centre duquel s’ouvre un long tunnel. De l’autre côté du passage se dresse une ville fantôme. Les parents découvrent dans un restaurant désert de nombreux mets succulents et ne tardent pas à se jeter dessus. Ils se retrouvent alors transformés en cochons. Prise de panique, Chihiro s’enfuit et se dématérialise progressivement. L’énigmatique Haku se charge de lui expliquer le fonctionnement de l’univers dans lequel elle vient de pénétrer. Pour sauver ses parents, la fillette va devoir faire face à la terrible sorcière Yubaba, qui arbore les traits d’une harpie méphistophélique.

Pour rendre service à Tôko, Takashi Natsume se rend dans une ville proche. Une ville où sa grand-mère, Reiko, a brièvement vécu alors qu'elle était lycéenne. Par hasard, alors qu'il est sur le chemin du retour, Takashi croise la route d'une personne ayant autrefois côtoyée Reiko.

Le film propose deux histoires : "Ishi Okoshi" (the Waking Rock) et "Ayashiki Raihôsha" (the Strange Visitor). Dans la première histoire, Takashi Natsume croise par hasard la route d'un yôkai prénommé Mitsumi. Ce dernier a pour mission d'éveiller Iwatetsu, un yôkai de rang divin. Dans la seconde histoire, Kaname Tanuma fait la connaissance d'un homme mystérieux qui, par la suite, va lui rendre visite régulièrement. Cette nouvelle amitié l'enchante mais Natsume reste méfiant : il sait que cet homme est un yôkai et il s'inquiète pour son ami. Une méfiance fondée puisqu'au bout d'un certain temps, la santé de Tanuma se détériore.

Trois gouttes d’eau tombent du ciel et rebondissent sur l’épaule de Momo qui tient dans sa main une lettre inachevée écrite par son père, océanographe, disparu en mer. Cette lettre, qui commence par « Chère Momo », est restée blanche. Après ce décès, Ikuko, la mère de Momo, décide de quitter Tokyo avec sa fille et de rejoindre son île natale, l’île de Shio, située dans la mer intérieure de Seto. .

La « bande » d'InuYasha mène une nouvelle fois un rude combat contre Naraku, à la fin duquel ils viennent à bout de leur ennemi juré. D'ailleurs le Kazaana de Miroku disparaît et Kohaku, le frère de Sango, n'est plus sous l'emprise de Naraku. Est-ce vraiment la fin ? Peu de temps après, InuYasha rencontre un nouvel ennemi : la princesse Kaguya. Celle-ci veut détruire toutes vies sur terre et faire régner le chaos éternel. Cette dernière propose à InuYasha de réaliser son rêve : devenir un démon à part entière.

L'un des morceaux de la Shikon No Tama a donné naissance à un démon : Menomaru. Celui-ci veut absorber les puissants pouvoirs de son père qui fut scellé 200 ans plus tôt par le père d'InuYasha. Commence alors un combat acharné entre ce démon assoiffé de pouvoir et la « bande » d'InuYasha, durant lequel les sentiments de ce dernier et de Kagome sont mis au défi.

Tous les cinquante ans, émerge de la brune une île mystérieuse au large de la mer. Cette île est habitée par des enfants hanyo qui sont retenus par la Cicatrice Écarlate. L'un des enfants, une petite fille, qui n'a pas encore reçu cette marque, a pu s'enfuir. Mais cette enfant est attaquée par un youkai ; c'est alors que la « bande » d'InuYasha la sauve. Leur présence était due au flair d'InuYasha. En effet, ce dernier avait senti l'odeur du youkai, qui lui avait infligé cinquante ans auparavant la cicatrice écarlate, et il comptait se venger. InuYasha et les autres se rendent alors sur cette île ; leur combat ne fait que commencer…

L'histoire commence peu de temps avant la mort d'Inu-No-Taishô, le père de Sesshomaru et d'InuYasha. On apprend que ce puissant démon possédait trois armes : Tessaiga (qui donne la mort et léguée à InuYasha), Tenseiga (qui redonne la vie et léguée à Sesshomaru) et enfin Sou'unga. Cette dernière a été scellée, car il s'agit d'une épée maléfique et difficile à dompter. Mais le sceau se brise, se réveille alors la volonté de l'épée qui entreprend de détruire le monde en ouvrant les Portes de l'Enfer.

Dans tout le Japon, les enfants disparaissent tandis que des hordes de monstres s’attaquent aux populations. Ces créatures maléfiques sont manipulées par Kato, un démon en guerre contre les humains. Face à la menace, une poignée de créatures facétieuses appelées « Yokai » fait équipe avec un jeune garçon pour protéger l'humanité grâce à une épée légendaire qui a le pouvoir de le transformer en valeureux guerrier..

Une nuit, les méchants Yo-kai Laure et Marge volent la montre Yo-kai de Nathan Adams pour aider leur maître Lady Perpétua à empêcher les humains et Yo-kai d'être amis! Il rencontre alors Meganyan, qui lui dit que Yo-Kai sont réels. Lui et l'équipage se dirigent vers la grand-mère de Nathan, rencontrent une ombre et la poursuivent, mais en vain. Meganyan revient, demandant de retirer le bouchon dans son corps - le bouchon qui supprime son énergie...

Des pilleurs de tombes réveillent par erreur un terrible démon des ruines de Babylone. Ce dernier vole alors vers le Japon où il prend l´apparence d´un haut magistrat, multipliant les actes de vampirisation. Pour tenter d´arrêter le mal, la petite fille du fonctionnaire et un jeune paysan font appel à des Yokais, des fantômes pacifistes mais terrifiants.

Mr Tajimaya, homme d'affaires peu regardant, veut détruire une partie d'un village (qui est d'ailleurs un lieu sacré) pour à la place y construire un bordel, malgré le mécontentement des villageois. Il a hérité de cette terre en faisant jadis affaire avec Jinbei, ex-propriétaire du lieu, lui prêtant de l'argent afin d'acheter des médicaments pour sa femme malade. Jinbei, ne pouvant payer, avait mis en effet son terrain en gage. Profitant du passage d'un magistrat religieux (et corrompu) sans qui le lieu de pèlerinage n'aurait pu être détruit, Tajimaya organise une petite fête atypique: il invite un conteur pour qu'il raconte les "100 Histoires". La tradition veut qu'à chaque histoire, une bougie soit éteinte. Et qu'à la fin de la dernière histoire, tous les convives participent à un rituel pour conjurer le mauvais sort, sans quoi des fantômes et démons apparaîtraient...

Ninko est un jeune moine qui n'a qu'un problème : les femmes semblent incapables de lui résister. Les plaisirs sexuels sont un péché et Ninko pense ne pas être assez vertueux. Il s'enfuit alors dans les montagnes, dans un village désolé qui serait hanté...
