Narnian tarinat: Velho ja leijona on 8. joulukuuta 2005 ensi-iltansa saanut yhdysvaltalainen fantasiaelokuva, joka pohjautuu irlantilaisen kirjailijan C. S. Lewisin vuonna 1950 julkaistuun kirjaan Velho ja leijona. Elokuvan ohjasi Andrew Adamson, ja sen pääosissa esiintyvät William Moseley, Anna Popplewell, Skandar Keynes, Georgie Henley, Tilda Swinton ja Liam Neeson. Elokuvan tuottajiin kuulunut Douglas Gresham on sukua C. S. Lewisille. Siitä on tehty kaksi jatko-osaa nimillä Prinssi Kaspian ja Kaspianin matka maailman ääriinSuomalainen kanteleensoittaja Timo Väänänen on soittanut elokuvaan musiikkia vierailevana muusikkona. Kantele soi muun muassa silloin kun Lucy tapaa Tumnuksen.

Viimeinen taistelu Keski-Maasta on alkanut. Frodo ja Sam jatkavat vaarallista matkaansa Klonkun opastamina kohti Tuomiovuoren tulia tuhotakseen Valtasormuksen. Aragorn valmistautuu perimäänsä kohtaloon johtaessaan joukkojaan kohti ylivoimaista Musta Ruhtinas Sauronin armeijaa, jotta Sormuksen Viejä voisi saattaa tehtävänsä päätökseen.

Thorin ja Ereborin kääpiöt ovat onnistuneet valloittamaan takaisin kotimaansa rikkaudet, mutta joutuvat kohtaamaan seuraukset päästettyään lohikäärme Smaugin Järvikaupungin kimppuun. Samaan aikaan musta ruhtinas Sauron on lähettänyt örkkiarmeijansa hyökkäämään Yksinäiselle vuorelle, ja Bilbo Reppulin on taisteltava hengestään viiden mahtavan armeijan käydessä sotaan. Kääpiöiden, haltioiden ja ihmisten on tehtävä päätös: yhdistää voimansa tai tulla tuhotuiksi.

Saattue on hajonnut, mutta tehtävä - tuhota Valtasormus - jatkuu. Frodon ja Samin on luotettava Klonkkuun henkensäkin uhalla löytääkseen tien Mordoriin. Sarumanin armeija lähestyy uhkaavasti ja saattueen hengissä selvinneet jäsenet valmistautuvat taisteluun Keski-Maan ihmisten ja olentojen rinnalla. Sormuksen sota on alkanut.

Hobitti - odottamaton matka -elokuvassa palataan taianomaiseen Keskimaahan, jossa mukavuudenhaluinen Bilbo Reppuli vedetään vasten tahtoaan mukaan huimaan seikkailuun. Kolmetoista rohkeaa kääpiötä, Bilbo ja Gandalf suuntaavat kohti Yksinäistä vuorta, jonka lohikäärme Smaug valloitti kauan sitten vuorta asuttaneilta kääpiöiltä. Siitä lähtien Smaug on pitänyt hallussaan kääpiöiden kulta-aarretta, mutta nyt aika on kypsä lohikäärmeen haastamiseen. Taival Yksinäiselle vuorelle on kuitenkin täynnä vaaroja.

Bilbo Reppulin seikkailut Gandalfin, 12 kääpiön ja heidän johtajansa Thorin Tammikilven kanssa jatkuvat seurueen selvittyä odottamattoman matkansa jännittävästä alusta. Retkikunta jatkaa taivaltaan itää kohti ja tapaa matkan varrella mm. nahanvaihtaja Beornin ja lauman jättiläismäisiä hämähäkkejä. Paettuaan vaarallisten metsähaltioiden kynsistä retkikunta matkaa ensin Järvikaupunkiin ja lopulta Yksinäiselle vuorelle, jossa se joutuu kohtamaan vaaroista kaikkein kauheimman. Lohikäärme Smaug - hirvittävistä olioista hirvittävin - koettelee perinpohjin paitsi matkalaisten rohkeutta myös heidän ystävyytensä rajoja ja saa heidät kyseenalaistamaan koko matkansa järkevyyden.

Pevensien perheen lapset Peter, Susan, Edmund ja Lucy palaavat jälleen Narniaan, mutta siellä ei kaikki olekaan niin ruusuista kuin lasten muistoissa. Puhuvat eläimet, kentaurit, kääpiöt ja Narnian muut vanhat asukkaat joutuvat elämään piilossa, koska maan valloittaneet telmarilaiset eivät heitä siedä. Puutkin ovat vetäytyneet kuoriinsa eivätkä enää tanssi entiseen tapaansa. Lapset kutsutaan Narniaan auttamaan Prinssi Kaspiania syöksemään setänsä vallasta voidakseen hallita Narniaa lempeämmin ottein. Tehtävässä auttavat metsien piiloista esiin tulevat vanhat narnialaiset, jotka haluavat vapautensa takaisin.

Huikeassa koko perheen fantasiaseikkailussa palataan takaisin tarunhohtoiseen ja upeaan C.S. Lewisin luomaan Narnia-maailmaan – tällä kertaa meriaiheisen taulun kautta. Edmund (Skandar Keynes) ja Lucy Pevensie (Georgie Henley) ovat viettämässä kesälomaansa, kun he löytävät serkkunsa Eustancen (Will Poulter) kanssa taulun, joka toimii porttina Narnia-maailmaan ja Sarastus-laivalle (The Dawn Treader). Jälleen uusi valloittava seikkailu odottaa heitä ja heidän kuninkaallista ystäväänsä prinssi Kaspiania (Ben Barnes).

Taru sormusten herrasta on J.R.R. Tolkienin maailmankuulu, taianomainen satu hobiteista, haltijoista, kääpiöistä ja Mustasta Lordista. Hobittien sankarilla Frodo Reppulilla on hallussaan sormus, joka antaa haltijalleen vallan hallita kaikkia eläviä olentoja.Mutta koska sormus lopulta tuhoaa kantajansa, lähtee Frodo ihmisten, haltijoiden ja kääpiöiden saattamana matkalle Mustan Lordin maahan heittääkseen sormuksen takaisin Tuomiovuorella sijaitsevaan sulatusuuniin...
