Kenade majakestega tänaval erineb üks kõigist ülejäänutest: suur, must ja kole elamu, mille ees laiutab kuivanud muruplats. Keegi naabritest ei tea, et maja all asub tohutu salajane varjupaik, kus tegutseb lugematutest kollastest käsilastest ümbritsetud supersuli Gru. Hetkel on mehel plaanis kõigi aegade suurim kuritegu: ta plaanib varastada taevast kuu!
