Escritor, guionista, monologuista, actor de teatro y performance, Spalding Gray rememora en esta obra su experiencia como actor de reparto, en el papel de cónsul, en la película “Los gritos del silencio”; la perturbadora denuncia de la trágica y sangrienta historia contemporánea de Camboya. Spalding Gray tiene un gran currículo como actor de reparto en el cine y la televisión americana. Es sin embargo una peculiar figura de la escena teatral alternativa de Nueva York. Sus peripecias vitales también han dado como fruto monólogos filmados como en “Gray´s Anatomy”. En algo más de una hora, en “Nadando a Camboya”, tras un escritorio y con la ayuda de un mapa de Camboya y un proyector desgrana su experiencia y sus reflexiones de y sobre el sudeste asiático. Para la banda sonora contó con la colaboración de la cantautora y compositora Laurie Anderson.
