By closing his pharmacy, Panagiotis Panagiotidis falls on a provocative stranger, Lulu, who leads him to a beach for swimming and then drives him home. There, he learns that he is called Jordan Steka, that Lulu is his wife and that he suffers from a personality split. He asks for police assistance, but the policeman is convinced that he is crazy and he asks for a psychiatrist to prove him suffering from a personality split.

Jacinto is in love with Natalia, but she wishes for a daring hero and he is not that kind of man at all. Then by accident he is mistakenly believed to be just that. Now he will try to live up to her expectations, finding it quite stressful.

In the final days of the Spanish Civil War, a married couple of Republican refugees goes into hiding in a northern Spanish seaside town. While the wife stays there with their recently born child, the husband continues North to an uncertain future in France.
