Ο Αότσι, ένας καθηγητής γερμανικών, συναντά τον παλιό του συνάδελφο Νακασάγκο. Στη διάρκεια ενός δείπνου, συναντούν μια όμορφη γκέισα που λέγεται Κόινε. Έξι μήνες αργότερα, ο Αότσι μαθαίνει ότι ο Νακασάγκο έχει παντρευτεί και ότι η γυναίκα του Σόνο μοιάζει με την Κόινε. Ύστερα από λίγο καιρό, ο Νακασάγκο έχει πάρει τους δρόμους, συνοδευόμενος στα ταξίδια του από την Κόινε. The Meiji Era was one of great renewal for Japan, where swords and killing were outlawed. Swords are banned but people are still murdered in the streets. Orphans of war veterans are left with nowhere to go, while the government seems content to just line their pockets with money.

Unencumbered by wives, jobs or any other responsibilities, three senior citizens who've never really grown up explore their world in the Yorkshire Dales. They spend their days speculating about their fellow townsfolk and thinking up adventures not usually favored by the elderly. Last of the Summer Wine premiered as an episode of Comedy Playhouse in 1973. The show ran for 295 episodes until 2010. It is the longest running comedy Britain has produced and the longest running sitcom in the world.
