Το 19ο αιώνα ένας Αμερικανός λοχαγός που πήρε μέρος στις σφαγές των Ινδιάνων ταξιδεύει στην Ιαπωνία, προκειμένου να εκπαιδεύσει τον τακτικό στρατό στα σύγχρονα όπλα. Αιχμαλωτίζεται από τους σαμουράι, μυείται στις συνήθειές τους και στέκει στο πλευρό τους, όταν συγκρούονται με τους άντρες του αυτοκράτορα.

Το «Sucker Punch» είναι μια επική περιπέτεια φαντασίας που μας ταξιδεύει στη ζωηρή φαντασία μιας νεαρής κοπέλας. Ο κόσμος των ονείρων της αποτελεί για εκείνη την ιδανική απόδραση από τη σκοτεινή πραγματικότητα που ζει. Χωρίς τους περιορισμούς του χρόνου και του χώρου, είναι ελεύθερη να πάει εκεί που την πηγαίνει το μυαλό της. Οι απίστευτες περιπέτειες της, θολώνουν τις γραμμές ανάμεσα στην πραγματικότητα και την φαντασία. Η Μπέιμπιντολ παρακινεί άλλες τέσσερις κοπέλες που ζουν και αυτές φυλακισμένες μαζί της σε ένα ψυχιατρείο, οι οποίες θα βρεθούν να παίρνουν μέρος σε ένα πόλεμο φαντασίας ενάντια στα πάντα, από σαμουράι μέχρι ερπετά, έχοντας στη διάθεση τους ένα εικονικό οπλοστάσιο. Μαζί, θα πρέπει να αποφασίσουν τι είναι διατεθειμένες να θυσιάσουν, προκειμένου να μείνουν ζωντανές.
Μία ομάδα εξόριστων Σαμουράι επιδιώκουν να αποκαταστήσουν την τιμή τους και να εκδικηθούν τον προδότη που ευθύνεται για τον θάνατο του Δασκάλου τους. Ο Κάι είναι ο συμπολεμιστής τους, που θα τον αμφισβητήσουν, ειδικά όταν ερωτευτεί την Μίκα, την κόρη του αφέντη τους. Η ταινία ακολουθεί την αποστολή των Ronin που θα δοκιμάσουν το κουράγιο τους, το θάρρος τους, την ψυχή τους, αλλά και την μεταξύ τους εμπιστοσύνη σε μια προσπάθεια ανάκτησης της χαμένης τους γης και κατάκτησης της αιωνιότητας. Μια αναζήτηση με πολλές δοκιμασίες και σκηνές καταιγιστικής δράσης, αλλά και με απειλητικά, υπερφυσικά.
Προτού γίνει προστάτης, ο Κένσιν ήταν ένας τρομερός δολοφόνος γνωστός ως Μπατόσαϊ. Γνωρίζοντας όμως τη γλυκιά Τόμοε Γιουκίσιρο, η ιστορία του αρχίζει να αλλάζει.
Στην αρχαία Ιαπωνία, ένα μικρό αγόρι, ο Κούμπο, ζει σε χωριό και φροντίζει τη μητέρα του. Όμως, ένα πνεύμα από το παρελθόν αναστατώνει τη ζωή του αναφλέγοντας μια παλιά βεντέτα. Αυτό θα προκαλέσει αναστάτωση στον κόσμο των θεών και των τεράτων, που όλα πλέον κυνηγούν τον Κούμπο. Για να επιβιώσει, πρέπει να εντοπίσει μια μαγική πανοπλία, την οποία κάποτε φορούσε ο πατέρας του, θρυλικός πολεμιστής σαμουράι.
Το 1879, ο Κένσιν και οι σύμμαχοί του έρχονται αντιμέτωποι με τον ισχυρότερο εχθρό τους: τον πρώην κουνιάδο του, Ενίσι Γιουκίσιρο, και τους φιλέκδικους ακόλουθούς του.
Μετά την ήττα του από τον Σισίο, ο Κένσιν πέφτει στην θάλασσα για να σώσει την Καόρου. Το άτομο που τον σώζει είναι κάποιος από το παρελθόν του, ο παλιός του δάσκαλος που θα του διδάξει την τελευταία κίνηση της τεχνικής Χίτεν Μιτσουρούγκι. Εντωμεταξύ ο Σισίο με το μαύρο πλοίο του φτάνει στις ακτές του Τόκιο και απειλεί να το πυρπολήσει. Η κυβέρνηση υποκύπτει στις απαιτήσεις του και κηρύσσει τον Κένσιν ως φυγά και δολοφόνο της προηγούμενης εποχής του Σογκουνάτου. Για άλλη μια φορά ο Κένσιν θα αντιμετωπίσει με του συμμάχους του τον Σισίο και τον στρατό του.
Ο θρυλικός δολοφόνος Κενσιν Χιμούρα, δέκα χρόνια μετά την Επανόρθωση Μέιτζι έχει γίνει ένας περιπλανώμενος σαμουράι. Προσφέρει βοήθεια και προστατεύει όσους το χρειάζονται για να ξεπληρώσει τις παλιές του αμαρτίες. Στο ταξίδι του προς το Τόκιο, συναντάει την Καόρου Καμίγια, την ιδιοκτήτρια και δασκάλα ενός Ντοτζο ξιφασκίας. Η Καόρου προσκαλεί τον Κένσιν να μείνει στο Ντότζο της. Η σχέση τους εξελίσσεται περισσότερο αλλά το παρελθόν του Κένσιν επιστρέφει για να τον στοιχειώσει.
Στην Ιαπωνία του 12ου αιώνα, μια γυναίκα βιάζεται και ο σύζυγός της δολοφονείται από τον πασίγνωστο ληστή Tajomaru. Ο δράστης σύντομα συλλαμβάνεται αλλά η κατάθεσή του, είναι εντελώς διαφορετική από την κατάθεση του θύματος. Ένας αυτόπτης μάρτυρας που βρήκε το πτώμα του άντρα, καλείται για να δώσει φως στην υπόθεση αλλά περιπλέκει περισσότερο την κατάσταση καθώς η κατάθεση του είναι επίσης διαφορετική από τις υπόλοιπες.
Ο Κένσιν έχει συνηθίσει στην νέα ζωή του με την Καόρου και τους άλλους φίλους τους, όταν δέχεται ένα αίτημα από την Κυβέρνηση Μέιτζι. Ο Σισίο Μακότο, ένας πρώην δολοφόνος, επέζησε αφού τον πρόδωσαν και τον έκαψαν ζωντανό. Τώρα βρίσκεται στο Κιότο και συνωμοτεί με τους πολεμιστές που έχει συγκεντρώσει, να ρίξουν την νέα κυβέρνηση. Αντίθετα από την επιθυμία της Καόρου, ο Κένσιν, δέχεται να πάει στο Κιότο να πολεμήσει τον Σισίο και να ανατρέψει ένα νέο εμφύλιο πόλεμο.

Όταν όμως αρχίζει να κάνει ερωτήσεις για ένα νεαρό σαμουράι που είχε έρθει λίγο καιρό πριν για τον ίδιο σκοπό, τα πράγματα παίρνουν μια απρόσμενη τροπή.
Ο Λουπέν, ο πιστός βοηθός του Τζίγκεν κι ο πολεμιστής-σαμουράι Γκέμον, φτάνουν στο φρούριο του Κόμη του Καλιόστρο για να εξιχνιάσουν μια σατανική υπόθεση πλαστογραφίας, ενώ μαθαίνουν ότι μια πριγκίπισσα κλειδωμένη στο κάστρο, κρατά το κλειδί για έναν υπέροχο θησαυρό...

He is aided by Magistrate Oo'oka and a vivacious fireman, Tatsugoro, as well as a rotating cast of other recurring characters. Along with Zenigata Heiji and Mito Kōmon, it ranks among the longest-running series in the jidaigeki genre. Like so many other jidaigeki, it falls in the category of kanzen-chōaku, loosely, "rewarding good and punishing evil."

Yukimura and Masamune go after separate Imagawas, but all of the doubles are killed by a third party, and when their paths cross again, they are in front of the menacing Oda Nobunaga and his army. It was Nobunaga’s subordinates that killed those body doubles, and Nobunaga himself proceeds to kill the real Imagawa with a shotgun blast to the head.

Yukimura Chizuru is the daughter of a doctor who works in Edo; her father leaves Edo to work as a volunteer doctor and moves to Kyoto without his daughter. As time passes by, Chizuru starts worrying about losing contact with her father, so she decides to go to Kyoto in search of him. On the way, Chizuru is attacked by few criminals and witnesses a fight between an oni and the Shinsengumi. Taking her into custody and saving her, the Shinsengumi debate on what to do with Chizuru when they discover that she is the daughter of the doctor they are also looking for. So they decide to become Chizuru's protectors and help her look for her father (the doctor). Lots of events happen while she stays with the Shinsengumi, as they discover mysterious secrets and also fight against the Bakumatsu group.
