Δύο όμοιες δίδυμες που χωρίστηκαν λίγο μετά τη γέννα, όταν οι γονείς τους χώρισαν, συναντιούνται σε μια καλοκαιρινή κατασκήνωση και σχεδιάζουν να ανταλλάξουν θέσεις μεταξύ τους για να επανασυνδέσουν τους γονείς τους.

Την ίδια ώρα ο Kumail θα κληθεί να αντιμετωπίσει και τον «πόλεμο» ανάμεσα στην οικογένεια του και σε αυτό που επιθυμεί η καρδιά του.

Δύο εξαντλημένοι προσωπικοί βοηθοί χρειάζονται επειγόντως διάλειμμα από το γραφείο και συνεργάζονται για να κάνουν τα εργασιομανή αφεντικά τους να ερωτευτούν.

Μετά το τέλος του πολέμου, δύο Αμερικανοί που υπηρέτησαν στο μέτωπο της Ευρώπης γίνονται διάσημο καλλιτεχνικό ντουέτο. Η ζωή τους αλλάζει, όταν γνωρίζουν δύο αδελφές, που επίσης χορεύουν κα τραγουδούν, και τις ακολουθούν σε ένα ξενοδοχείο του Βερμόν, όπου πρόκειται να δώσουν παραστάσεις.

Ο Χοσέ είναι ένας μοναχικός και ντροπαλός άνδρας. Ένα πρωινό, πηγαίνει για καφέ στο μπαρ όπου δουλεύει η Άνα. Ο ερχομός του στη ζωή της, δίνει κουράγιο στην Άνα, αφού πέρασε οχτώ χρόνια περιμένοντας τον Κούρο, τον σύζυγό της, να εκτίσει την ποινή του. Ο Κούρο βγαίνει ελπίζοντας πως θα μπορέσει να ξεκινήσει απ’ την αρχή με την Άνα. Στη θέση της όμως βρίσκει μια μπερδεμένη γυναίκα κι έναν ξένο που θα τον αναγκάσει να αντιμετωπίσει τα φαντάσματα του παρελθόντος.

Το «Πρώιμο Καλοκαίρι» του Ιάπωνα σκηνοθέτη Yasujiro Ozu καταπιάνεται για άλλη μια φορά με το προσφιλές θέμα του, την ιαπωνική οικογένεια. Σε αυτήν την ταινία, η οικογένεια παρουσιάζεται μ' ένα λιγότερο δραματικό ύφος, σταθερό όμως στους μινιμαλιστικούς κανόνες και την αφαιρετική διήγηση στην οποία έμενε πιστός ο σκηνοθέτης σε όλη τη διάρκεια της ζωής του. Θέμα της αυτή τη φορά, η αποκατάσταση της κόρης της οικογενείας Noriko μέσα από μία κοινωνία που αλλάζει δίνοντας μεγαλύτερες ελευθερίες στην ίδια τη γυναίκα. Στιγμές, σκηνές, καταστάσεις οικογενειακής ζωής που παίρνουν το χρόνο τους χωρίς να βιάζονται και χωρίς να γίνονται ούτε για μία στιγμή κουραστικές στους θεατές. Αποφάσεις αμφίθυμες και καταλήξεις που τελικά είναι καλοδεχούμενες αφού έτσι κι αλλιώς δεν υπάρχει άλλη επιλογή δράσης.

Ο Ησαΐας και ο Ανάργυρος είναι συνέταιροι και διατηρούν μαζί ένα γραφείο συνοικεσίων. Τα πράγματα δεν πάνε πολύ καλά τελευταία και η γυναίκα του Ησαΐα, η Καλλιρρόη, αναλαμβάνει να βοηθήσει την κατάσταση. Βρίσκει λοιπόν γαμπρό για την κόρη της, έναν γόνο πλούσιας οικογενείας. Ο γαμπρός όμως δεν είναι και τόσο πλούσιος αφού στην πραγματικότητα είναι ο γιος του μανάβη. Η κατάσταση μπερδεύεται ακόμα περισσότερο αφού και η ίδια η κόρη της δεν είναι κόρη εφοπλιστή όπως την παρουσίασε.
