Based on Finnish mythology; Lemminkäinen woos the fair Annikki and battles the evil witch Louhi. Louhi kidnaps Annikki to compel her brother to build for her a Sampo, a magical device that creates salt, grain, and gold. When Lemminkäinen fails to recover the Sampo, Louhi steals the sun, plunging the world into frozen darkness.

Reino Köyri the son of a wealthy house falls off a horse and ends up at Liuhala's cottage to be treated by Venla. There he falls in love with the daughter of the house Anna. The couple’s cohabitation is hampered by previous commitments and ambiguities in kinship.

Rovasti and Ruustinna plan to stop at the wedding on the way to the spa, but things get complicated and there are enough misunderstandings in the knots of love.

A film in two episodes. The first, "Juulia", is a young woman's stylish reminiscence of her brief summer romance, set in some of the most chic design locations around Helsinki. The second episode "Tikku", a seemingly semi-improvised comedy, takes an overworked housewife, her three children and her lazy husband out of the city to spend the weekend at the mother-in-law's.

Medical student Antti Ahonen, who is fighting tuberculosis, finds himself in the middle of a love triangle with his friend Heikki Huhtamäki and his crush Helmi Hirvinen.
