Her må Poppy se i øjnene, at det kan være nødvendigt at indordne sig og ikke altid tænke udelukkende på sig selv. Men derfor kan man jo godt lave lidt fis og ballade en gang imellem.

Carl Brashear er fast besluttet på at blive den første sorte dykker i den amerikanske flåde, men både instruktører og lejerkommandanten gør deres bedste for at forhindre ham i at fuldføre træningen. Det bliver en kamp mellem viljer af stål.

De to søstre, Lisa og Kate, er på ferie i Mexico for at slappe af, men da de får muligheden for at prøve noget knapt så afslappende, siger de alligevel ja. Lisa og Kate får chancen for at stå ansigt til ansigt med kæmpe hvide hajer ved blive sænket ned i vandet i et dykkerbur. Undervejs går det naturligvis galt, og buret falder ned på havbunden. Nu er de fanget på 47 meters dybe midt i haj-inficerede farvande med en begrænset luftforsyning!

Fire eventyrlystne teenagepiger tager ud for at opleve ruinen af en gammel mayanerby, som ligger 47 meter under havets overflade. Hvad der skulle have været en oplevelse for livet, udvikler sig hurtigt til en kamp om liv og død, da pigerne opdager, at ruinerne er hjemsted for glubske hvidhajer. Med en forsvindende lille iltforsyning tilbage må de navigere gennem de klaustrofobiske grotter for at finde en vej ud af undervandshelvedet.

I de haj fyldte vande ved Bahamas dykker en gruppe venner. Da de opdager et flyvrag fyldt med gods for millioner, er deres lykke gjort. Det tror de i hvert fald, for snart finder de ud af, at der er flere, som er interesserede i de ulovlige varer.

I sidste halvdel af 1800-tallet lever sømændene en risikofyldt tilværelse. Mange fartøjer forsvinder, og historier om en gigantisk narhval, der uden nåde angriber og sænker skibene, begynder at florere. En professor sætter sig for at løse mysteriet om uhyret, og sammen med en frygtløs hvalfanger drager han til søs.

Ved Cheju Dos kyst kæmper en gruppe stærke sydkoreanske dykkere for at redde deres uddøende kultur fra forestående trusler.

Lake Placid. Stille idyllisk vand omgivet af smuk natur. En ren postkort sø. Holder du billedet for dit indre blik? Godt. Tilsæt en 10 meter lang frådende tænderklaprende monster krokodille med et hidsigt temperament, som kun overgås af dens voldsomt store appetit. Lad os sige det sådan her: turistchefen er ikke glad. Et lille hold af forskere forsøger at få svar på, hvor monsteret kommer fra og hvornår det for øvrigt er spisetid igen men alt tyder på, at de kommer til at lære krokodillen lidt for godt at kende, før de når så langt.

Ved indvielsen dukker en uindbudt gæst op – en 12 meter lang haj, som uheldigvis er kommet ind gennem en sluse. Da publikum vandrer gennem de gennemsigtige tunneler på bunden af lagunen, lurer hajen udenfor. En dræberhaj, som så let som ingenting kan ødelægge tunnellens glasvægge.

Siden deres barndom har Jacques og Enzo konkurreret i at dykke længst og dybest, og som voksne fortsætter de denne dyst. Enzo er blevet verdensmester, Jacques arbejder i videnskabens tjeneste, men stadig er det ikke helt klart hvem af dem, der er den bedste. Og de føler begge, at spørgsmålet må opklares.

To dykkere er efterladt ude på havet uden en båd. Der er ikke noget andet, end vand i kilometervis afstand, med mindre de ser på, hvad der er under dem ...

Mandskabet på USS Tiger Shark – en undervandsbåd i tjeneste i Midtatlanten under 2. verdenskrig – er på vej hjem mod sin base i Connecticut. Mod slutningen af en lang og dødsensfarlig mission får mandskabet ordre til at tage tre overlevende fra et torpederet britisk hospitalsskib ombord.Mændene får et chok, da der er kvindelige sygeplejerske blandt de overlevende, fordi en kvinde på en ubåd bringer ulykke ifølge et gammelt sagn.Og ulykkerne vælter da også ned over dem. Ubåden er pludselig ude af stand til at stige op til overfladen, hvorved alle kommer i fare for at dø af iltmangel. Det hele forværres, da den besnærende nye passager begynder at stille nysgerrige spørgsmål om et nyligt dødsfald om bord på ubåden. Snart nøjes mandskabet ikke kun med at kæmpe mod fjenden, men de må også kæmpe for at bevare deres egen mentale fornuft, da foruroligende lyde og uforklarlige uheld gør deres hjemrejse til en sand plage.

De svensk-norske halvsøstre Tuva og Ida begiver sig ud på deres traditionelle vinterdyk i Norge, men så sker der noget, som ikke burde ske. Et stenskred fanger Tuva 30 meter under havets overflade og begraver kvindernes udstyr. Alt er borte. Søstrene er afskåret fra omverdenen, og kampen for at redde Tuva presser Ida til det yderste.

Splash! is a reality television series that follows celebrities as they try to master the art of diving. The celebrities perform each week in front of a panel of judges and a live audience in an Olympic-size diving pool with the result each week partly determined by public vote. Gabby Logan and Vernon Kay present the show, whilst Team GB Olympic Bronze Medal winning diver Tom Daley is the expert mentor to the celebrities. It is filmed at the Inspire: Luton Sports Village, which is based in Stopsley, Luton. The show premiered on ITV on Saturday 5 January 2013 winning the ratings battle for its 7.15pm-8.15pm slot with an average audience of 5.6 million viewers, a network share of 23.6%. Splash was the highest rating new entertainment series on ITV for five years. The format for the show originated from the Celebrity Splash! franchise created by television production company Eyeworks in the Netherlands, and was broadcast on SBS 6 as Sterren Springen Op Zaterdag. A US version, under the title Splash, premiered on 19 March 2013 from the Riverside Aquatics Complex at Riverside City College and Pasadena's Rose Bowl Aquatics Center on ABC television. The US version features 2012 Olympic 10 m diving champion David Boudia and American diving legend Greg Louganis as judges. The Seven Network in Australia have also commissioned Celebrity Splash! which will air in 2013.

Dive is a two-part British television drama starring Aisling Loftus, Jack O'Connell and Gina McKee. Broadcast on BBC Two in July 2010, the show dealt with the problems of teenage relationships and pregnancy against the backdrop of a young diver's preparations for the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Descending is an exciting new weekly TV show now airing on Canada’s Outdoor Life Network, and featuring some stunning underwater video from around the world. Host Scott Wilson, from Brantford, Ontario, though fairly new to scuba, jumps right in to explore some of this planet’s “most remote locations” in the one-hour weekly show. Noting that so much of planet Earth is underwater and so few people get to see this realm firsthand, he said, “We knew it was important to shoot spectacular footage.” Wilson’s co-host is New Zealand diver Ellis Emmett, author, adventurer and friend. Emmett has penned five adventure books and is the owner of a New Zealand river rafting company. “I want people to be inspired, educated and enlightened, and have a laugh or two along the way,” he said. This year the hosts explore the underwater world on scuba, wearing full-face masks and dry suits. As post-production work continues on episodes scheduled to air in the coming weeks, they’re planning a switch to rebreathers, and even the occasional use of mixed gases in season two, officially not a go yet, but they’re hopeful! With government backing and the support of the Outdoor Life Network, Descending joins a long list of Canadian made underwater TV series that have found strong audience support.
