Dette er historien om en gruppe mennesker i 20'erne og 30'erne, som kender hinanden på kryds og tværs, og som følger hinandens op- og nedture i kærlighedslivet - fra overfladisk dating og tilfældige kys til livet som ægtepar på godt og ondt. Fælles for dem alle er, at de prøver at tyde tegnene fra det modsatte køn, og håber på at være undtagelsen fra reglen, som ellers er reglen uden undtagelser, som f.eks. Jvis han ikke ringer til dig, så er svaret nok: Han er bare ikke vild med dig.

Mary Fiore er en succesrig, men ensom bryllupsplanlægger, der bruger al sin tid på at udtænke andres bryllupper og gøre deres store dag til en uforglemmelig erindring af ukompliceret, velfungerende lykke. Desværre har hun så travlt med karrieren, at hun ganske glemmer at leve sit eget liv. Men en dag, hvor hun for en gangs skyld er lige ved at miste overblikket, møder hun den HELT rigtige fyr… Problemet er bare, at han viser sig at være brudgommen i hendes næste opgave…

Pond Life is a British animated television series that was written and directed by Candy Guard and follows the misadventures of its neurotic and self-obsessed protagonist, Dolly Pond. Two series were broadcast on Channel 4 in 1996 and 2000. A series of 13x15minute episodes was screened from 3 to 18 December 1996, mainly at 5.45pm, but two episodes exploring more adult themes were reserved for a double screening at 11.25pm. Despite these problems, Pond Life won several awards and received a Writer's Guild nomination for Best Sitcom. Guard was pleased because it was up against several live-action comedy series, including Only Fools and Horses. A second series was broadcast in 2000.
