Disney og Pixars “Inderst inde 2” vender tilbage til den friskbagte teenager Rileys sind, hvor hovedkvarteret pludselig er under nedrivning for at gøre plads til noget fuldkommen uventet: nye Følelser! Glæde, Triste, Vrede, Frygt og Afsky, som angiveligt længe har drevet et velsmurt maskineri, ved ikke, hvad de skal mene, da Bekymring dukker op. Og det ser ud til, at hun ikke er alene.
'Inderst inde' bliver fortalt af følelserne inde i pigen, Rileys, hovede. Fortælleren er Glæde og hendes venner Vrede, Frygt, Tristhed og Afsky. I mange år har Glæde styret showet, men da Rileys forældre beslutter sig for at flytte til en anden by, forsvinder Glæde og Tristhed fra Rileys hovede. Nu er det Vrede, Frygt og Afskys job at holde styr på Rileys følelser, og det går ikke helt så godt.
Riley, nu 12 år, er hjemme hos sine forældre i San Francisco, da potentielle problemer kommer og banker på. Kan mor og fars følelser håndtere Rileys første date?
