Efter en tragedie fortrækker en kvinde til en isoleret hytte uden de nødvendige overlevelsesfærdigheder. En jægers ankomst giver håb, hvis hun kan finde heling.

Indbyggerne i den lille australske by Kiewarra er afhængige af regn, men har de sidste to år levet i tørke. En dag bukker Luke Hadler, en af de lokale bønder, tilsyneladende under for presset og skyder sin familie og sig selv. Omstændighederne omkring familien Hadlers død viser sig at være mere mystiske end som så. Da politibetjenten Aaron Falk vender tilbage til barndomsbyen for at deltage i begravelsen, drages han ind i efterforskningen. Og i en gammel sag fra fortiden.

Beau er en engageret liniemontør, der reparerer og vedligeholder højspændingsledninger. Efter at have mistet sin bror i et uheld, mens han reparerede ledninger, tager han sig nu af sin niece; Bailey. Han bliver chokeret over at opdage, at hun dater Duncan - en ung liniemontør. De to montører tager sammen ud under en brutal storm, men Duncan ved ikke at Bailey er på hospitalet.

Dramaet ’En chance til’ handler om de to politibetjente, Andreas og Simon, der har vidt forskellige tilværelser. Hvor Andreas nyder livet med sin smukke hustru og nyfødte barn, dulmer Simon sin smerte fra et forlist ægteskab ved at tage på stripklub og drikke sig fuld. En rutineopgave tager en uventet drejning, da de bliver kaldt ud til husspektakel hos et junkiepar, hvor Andreas finder en forsømt baby. En familietragedie presser den ellers retskafne betjent til at begå en handling, der sender Andreas på vej mod afgrunden.

Revolving around the life of un-produced screenwriter Barnum Nilsen, The Half Brother is a dramatic family saga that offers an historical parable of 20th century Europe. On V Day, May 1945, as a continent emerges from war, Barnum’s mother Vera is raped in her attic in Oslo by an unknown man, leading to the birth of Barnum’s half brother, Fred. When Barnum is born five years later, to the man that Vera has since met and married, the Nilsen family, like Europe, is already splitting in two. At the film festival in Berlin in 1990, as the Wall is still coming down, Barnum learns that Fred has returned. Following a raft of shootings in an English market town, the crimes are retold in a nonlinear narrative structure through the eyes of a journalist and the tragedies' victims.
