Haeundae je čtvrť v Pusanu proslulá svou pláží, na níž probíhá řada společenských a kulturních akcí, mimo jiné i pusanský mezinárodní filmový festival. Právě toto oblíbené turistické a obchodní centrum se stalo dějištěm historicky prvního jihokorejského katastrofického filmu. Nákladný spektákl, v němž se přes Haeundae přežene gigantická tsunami, staví na hollywoodských schématech, která ozvláštňuje lokálními motivy a především specifickým korejským lidovým humorem. Tradiční žánrové spektrum postav je zde naplněno figurami, které zastupují odlišné projevy…

Začíná léto. Uběhl již celý rok od doby, co z tohoto světa odešla maminka Soo-Ah malého Ji-Hoa. Ani celičký ten čas však nestačil na to, aby se chlapec s odchodem své matky zcela smířil. Lean stejně jako v případě Rozmarného ducha příběh z této kulisy vyvedl, ovšem tentokrát mělo jeho ryze účelové filmařské řešení i další důvod.
