Účastníci musejí na začátku složit také potřebné "zápisné", dále je čeká už jen vyčerpávající cesta, v níž nestačí jen skvělé jezdecké umění. Předpokládá se rychlá orientace v krajině, přizpůsobivost nevypočítavému počasí, obrovské sebezapření, stejně jako tolerance. Náročný závod tak neustále, vlastně hodinu po hodině, prověřuje schopnosti lidi i koní...

Mahavir Singh Phogat (Aamir Khan) býval vynikající zápasník, ale musel nechat sportu, aby si našel práci, která ho uživí. Doufá, že jednou aspoň jeho syn vyhraje pro Indii medaili. Tam se výprava utábořila a později se rozhodlo, že velitel E. Shackleton spolu s dalšími muži vyrazí pro pomoc. Po 10měsíčním pochodu nakonec dorazili do cíle a pro ostatní členy pak přijela vysněná záchrana. American Gladiators is an American competition TV show that aired on NBC and Citytv in Canada. Hosted by Hulk Hogan and Laila Ali, the show matches amateur athletes against each other and the show's own "gladiators" in contests of strength, agility, and endurance. It is a remake of the original series of the same name which ran from 1989–1996, with elements of the UK version of the 1990s.
